I never really thought about this. Maybe this is why the BFG Rivals have extra tread over the sidewall and look like mud tire side lugs every time i see them

Haha!

It is one reason that tire is a popular one with camber-limited, soft-suspension cars. The others are that the tire allows more slip angle and is more progressive in break-away than some of the others (in other words, you can be a little more aggressive with them and throw weight around). But they are typically more numb feeling and less precise than the other tires and the tread design isn't as good for wet weather.

Ok here are some pics after I mounted the Supercar 3s and compared them to the 3R’s.
But to sum it up... ZLE tires get narrower when mounted.

Interesting indeed.

So it seems that the actual real world width between the ZL1 / SS 1LE are probably just about the same as the ZLE width.

Those SC3's do indeed run wide. I like it.

I wonder if the 3Rs shrink after getting some heat cycles through them? Actually maybe both the 3Rs and 3s do????
