Will GM High Wing spoiler require drilling on 2019 RS?

Looking into upgrading the stock lip style spoiler with OEM GM high wing spoiler (Part# 23353003) onto 2019 RS V6. Anyone done the mod or know if it is direct fit plug-and-play or is drilling/mods required?

Should be plug and play, just like installing the Blade Spoiler on an RS. Worst case is you may have to drill an extra hole or two, but I would doubt that.

I did this mod, you need to do a lot of work and re paint all trunk. Your stock duck tail spoiler installed on clips, you will have a holes in the trunk after you remove it.

Why would you need to repaint whole trunk? Doesn't the spoiler come painted direct from GM in your chosen factory colour?

And do you mean there will be holes remaining on trunk after you install new high wing spoiler?

Same question I’d have. My suggestion would be for you to find a pic that shows the underside of the high wing and compare with the RS lip spoiler. He may be mixing up the GM High Wing with the ZL1/1LE big wing.

The RS spoiler mounts with a hole every 4 to 5 inches all along the back. The high wing spoiler mounts on each end of the trunk, and then just in the middle so the holes between the center and the end are still visible. That’s why you need to weld and repaint the trunk.

Think people are confusing the GM “High Wing” (below). With the ZL1/1LE Big Wing.

GM High Wing Spoiler
I'm not sure there is any misunderstanding, the mounting kit for the high wing spoiler does show 6 bolts, typical for a 2-2-2 (both ends plus center) distribution.

One thing is certain, naming models, trims and components is not GM's forte... I mean, how in the world is this spoiler "high", let alone "wing"?

Probably some confusion indeed lol. Easy to confuse the all the different options out there since they're all pretty much the same generic names. There are no physical bolts on this spoiler.

Purchased the spoiler (part#23353003) and looks great, attached pic. It does have 9 clips. From some videos I seen on Youtube the RS does have the necessary holes for it to plug-and-play. Was going to get the job done at a body shop but seemed easy enough to do myself. Will give it a shot soon.
