Camaro 6 piston Brembo Red color match

I’ve searched for months to try to find the color for the red 6 piston Brembo brake upgrade so I could have the rear calipers powder coated to match. I contacted several Camaro6 forum members, followed lead after lead, ordered a bunch of (21) samples and swatches, and purchased a color analyzer for my iPhone. The last samples that I received seemed all very close. so I needed a way to narrow the list down. I scanned the Brembos with the color analyzer for reference and selected the top 8 visually and scanned those samples, and then ranked them by (RGB) color numbers from 1 to 8 and visually compared the top 4 to the Brembos. I ranked the samples visually and it aligned perfectly to the ranking from the color analysis. I asked my wife to do the same, and she selected them in the exact same order. The top three were all extremely close and would have been very acceptable.

So what do you think?

The color used was Passion Red from Prismatic Powders:

https://www.prismaticpowders.com

I got the decals on eBay here:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-P...e884:rk:5:pf:0

I found a local powder coating company through Prismatic's website:

Siek Performance Powder Coating
5525 Schultz Dr.
Sylvania, OH 43560

Phone: (419) 442-7286

SIEKPERFORMANCEPOWDERCOATING@gmail.com

Jason at Siek did a great job on the calipers. I have only one bad thing to say about him - he's a Mustang guy

He did A LOT of leg work to get this figured out. There are thousands of reds on Prismatc's website. I didn't have the time to deal with it so I basically gave up.

Thank you for doing this Wranklin!

Adding a photo that shows the color match better - the prior photo had more reflected light from my garage floor.

So Do I need to contact them and get this squared away? did you talk to someone specificly so when I call they know exactly what to do when I ship mine to them? and if you don't mind me asking, what did it end up running you? I'll have to see about them decals on ebay, if you have a link.

Sorry for the questions, but I've been trying to find a reputable place to do this. While Toledo is about 2.5hrs. I'm thinking on just driving there and having it done. (doubt that they can do it the same day)

**edit, lol. I should have read your post better, I do now see where you have the decals listed..** sorry.

Here are the steps I recommend. Order some sample swatches from Prismatic. "Trust but verify". PM me for list of the closest colors I found.

Once you've picked the closest color, Passion Red for me, contact Jason Siek and let him know what you'd like done. He may have to order more of the that color, since he ordered it special for me. I gave him earnest money to order the powder. My total cost for the two calipers was $200 plus tax.

My turnaround was 5 days, but it could be more, depending on his workload.

Make sure you get seals for the rebuild before hand. I was scrambling to find them, and not pay an arm and a leg.

Thanks!

I think they were around $400. Someone here mentioned getting the 1LE calipers to match, so I contacted a fellow Camaro6 forum member and 1LE owner and he sent me some photos. The 1LE calipers have a 1LE logo on them, and it wouldn't have matched the Chevy Performance logo on the front, so I just proceeded with getting them powder coated with the matching eBay decals.

Did anyone contact Brembo and ask them for the color code?
Should be a RAL number for it.

The RAL color pallet was my first thought, too. The RAL's were not close enough for my satisfaction or probably anyone's satifaction, and the Italians' at Brembo don't like to share - it's a proprietary color. My color analyzer gave readouts in RAL colors, and I ordered samples for comparison - going from memory 3002 was probably closest in that pallet, but also I compared the color to 3020, 3001, and 3000. In my 3 month search, it became apparent that it was a custom color.

Passion Red from Prismatic Powders is as close as you're going to get to the front red Brembos

To my untrained eye, those are a 100% match. Looks great. WTF did GM not match these? sigh.
