Cheap OEM Brakes?
Hey everyone
I just joined, and drive a 2009 G8, and I saw that alot of people on my forum are putting the SS brembo calipers/rotors on their cars. It's apparently a direct fit with just drilling the mounting hole out 2mm or something like that. My question is that it seems like a lot of people are upgrading their brakes. Are the OEM brembo rotors THAT cheap? |

I feel that they are the more affordable than most of the other options out there.

yeah OEM Brembo parts seem to be a decent amount cheaper than Brembo GT, Baer, Stoptech, etc.
I really wanna do CTS-V brakes on the Camaro! That's the best bang-for-buck brake upgrade IMHO. If the SS brakes are a direct fit on the G8, then I don't see why CTS-V brakes would not be as well. Just trim that damn dust cover!

You cannot compare Brembo OEM with the aftermarket stuff. They are great for street driving but but when it comes to hard track use they fail. I am already on my 2nd set! |

HOT ROD tested them way back when and they were very impressed with the performance of the stock brakes.
