LT5 95mm TB

Which would be better? Portted stock 87mm throttle body or unported lt5 95mm TB? Weapon X offers the lt5 TB for the fair price with adapter.

Can you run a 95mm throttle body without a tune?

I think so. Not really sure though? People on here have done more than that without one. Right now only "performance mod" is roto-fab intake and catback exhaust borla Stype

I would go with a stock TB that is ported. Then there won’t be concerns if a tune has to be done or it won’t bolt on to the intake without an adapter. That’s my 2 cents worth!

Just a guess, I would think in order to take advantage of the increased flow the larger TB would require a tune.

I guess my thoughts are if I was to possibly port anything on the snout or supercharger I could just use the same TB. I also read somewhere that the opening of the snout is slightly larger than the 87mm TB. Maybe I read too much

Stock size ported by TM. Some feel no difference, some do. I felt noticeably sharper throttle response. But then the rest of the mods came along a month later so I only had just the TB for a short time.

to get the most out of the LT5 TB, it would require a tune.

So you definitely would need a tune with the 95mm lt5 tb but is it worth it. Or do you get enough from the stock size ported

You dont need a tune. You will make gains, but if your not going to port the snout then no reason to go to the 95mm as the snout will be your bottle neck and keep your gains down.

I'm currently running one with no issues at all. With no tune yet

Yes you are spot on about the snout problem, but for larger TBs the snout also has to be ported for any benefit. And the SC has to come off for that. And once it is off you might as well port it. And once you do all that I would add a Rotofab Big Gulp and tune. And maybe a small pulley change

BUT with those mods you will feel the difference and look stock if you ditch the Rotofab and the pulley. And at a comparatively low price compared to bigger plans.
