All the tune is for is do adjust the computer so it doesn't throw the CEL code that is its main purpose.
Were you referring to me bc I didn't mention anything about HP or a tune? Just that it looks cheaply made which seemed to be in line with the comments about yours falling apart. The primary goal of these it to increase flow of cold air, not hot air. With all the gaps in the housing, to me, it seems like a waste of $300. But as always, that's just my opinion.

Glad to hear you don't have any issues with it. Weren't there some people a few months ago that were getting lights as the weather got cold? Very cool if it turned out those were just an installation error too... Never like to hear anyone having troubles

Sorry no it wasn't referring to you. Yes I agree it is cheaply made just the housing, the rest looks normal. That's why I said they should of went with a box housing like the v8 models.

Correct.

Truthfully, most tunes just optimizes whatever part was added. In the case of cars with maf sensors, they recalibrate the computer to read the new airflow, so that it doesn't throw a code.

Some intakes are made to where it doesn't affect the sensor area, but after the sensor, velocity or volume slightly increases. This is when you see gains without a tune.

It was simplistic to install. Does increase sound growl. No codes thrown. Just when installing use the shorter bolts on the housing adapter as you will need the longer bolts for the Maf sensor. It will be clear when you install. I like the look. I really need to consider having the engine cover color matched....

How much of the sound is it? Do you notice it significantly?

Under load yes you can hear the difference in growl. Also the kit is a sound tube delete. So you lose the sound tube growl but gain the CAI growl

On install just remember that that longer hex bolts are for the MAF sensor plate They do not tell you in the instructions which bolts go where.
