People may have given up. We're stuck with a strong stock V6 with no way to enhance it.

Still blows my mind. I get that with the intro of the turbo 4 development is now split 3 ways but come on, the V6 has always been the bread and butter for the Camaro line. I've owned 2 other Camaro's (Gen3 & Gen4) and both were V8's. This Gen6 V6 is faster than either...it's a shame it's not seeing the love.

I don't know about given up. I'm waiting for my warranty to run out. My car was just at the dealer for a week since my throttle body died. I don't want to be putting aftermarket stuff on and have to sweat warranty claims.

CAI is the first mod everyone does, and doesn't void the warranty. It's funny that I've talked to a lot of people and they choose the Mustang because of this reason can't say price cause v6's are down.

Def a long time first mod.

Back when I got into cars in highschool, late 90'summer early 2000's.. intake headerS and exhaust were the basic 3 things you got first.

For us newbies, what's the actual difference between the offered Pro Dry S and the Pro 5 R? Any performance difference between the filters?

There would be no measurable difference in hp if that's the info you're looking for... The oiled filters 'plug up' quick; haven't had personal experience with the dry filters, but I'd like to try them out. I'm always nervous about using excessive oil after the cleaning process; that's the main reason I'd like to try the 'new' dry filters.

Dry filters are awesome. I ran their pro dry with an AFE stage 2 on my 07 charger. You can pretty much remove, wash and let it dry and reinstall in about an hour.

I'd wash it, and let it dry while doing an oil change, and install it when done.

There's always talk about this filter filters better or not letting as much air through or getting clogged, but a lot of that stuff is the IC, aka Internet community... more theory then fact.

I've ran k&n oiled filters for years...and sure they get dirty, but unless you drive WOT down dirt roads constantly, rarely will they ever "clog" especially enough to hamper any real world performance. Meaning your not gonna lose a race because you didn't clean your filter.

The dry filters def are a bit more of a convenience. Don't have to wait till it's dry and then oil it. And some people go overboard with oiling the filters adding too much when it only needs a light mist worth.

Remember they give you a bottle with a spout that pours most times. The spray bottle is the aftermarket version. Easier to use. For those that don't have a spray bottle go to cvs or walmart and get the travel size misting spray bottles for hair products. Makes it easier to use.

Go dry for a more idiot proof solution. Wash and reinstall.

I believe I've decided on the Dry Filter

I don't mind a little maintenance, of course. However, the harder it is for me to mess something up, the better! lol thanks for the info!

I was planning on waiting on CAI's intake but now, I think I may just go w the AFE if it really gets released 10/28. CAI has pushed theirs to December now...
