Maybe just wait for the GM Drag Pack version and keep the warranty intact.

I don’t know...the carbon fiber intake by K&N is $660 online. I get that the CAI version is more elaborate, but that’s a pretty big difference.

This thing looks really cool, but is it really worth paying an extra $500 over a Rotofab given the very similar performance gains? That’s the question.

Count me #3.... if you get the same value at half the cost, or even 2/3 the cost.....I see no reason to buy it...

I love CAI products, but it's not worth $1000 when I can get the same performance for $5-600...

$500 more than Roto? That’s a couple of track day fees.

Agreed. I know alot of people who have been waiting on this intake, but at the same performance or even a little less than the Roto Fab, double the price is a tough sell. I guess if they are selling them @2x the rotofab, they only need to sell half as much quantity, but I am not sure that is profitable considering how much it cost them in the first place. And now that they are Sooooo late to the game, so many people have already bought Roto Fabs, K&Ns, or other brands, the ZL1 market may already be saturated with less ZL1 owners to sell to. If they go to a much higher price than the K&N Carbon Fiber intake, I would be out. I think others would be too.

Anyone thinking of buying this intake if it hovers around $1K is really buying this for car shows pretty much. Like the cars that gold plate every part under their hood, I guess. There really is no argument for function at that price point. This thread says a few...more...weeks...I heard that in early August. It is now December, so now we are looking at early 2018? lol. A lot of Roto fabs are going to sell between now and release of this CAI...the market is shrinking...

I would still get this over the Roto fab because it looks worthy to be installed in a $65,000 car. The Roto fab doesn't make the engine bay look any better, and I hate the cheap filter surrounding walls. You guys are buying 650hp whips but don't wanna waste 500$ more to make it look better.

It may look better, I won't argue that....but an extra $500 to look pretty ain't worth the money.

It's like spending $1000 to paint a plastic cover....it's preference, and most of us with a 65k car are more concerned with performance...
