Little s**t happens and it's best not to go overboard. I'd just touch it up. If you post pics we could get a better idea as to what you can do.
My friends are not real careful either, they love leaning on cars, rubbing their hand over the car's body lines and scratch my paint with the dust on the surface. I straight up tell them not to touch and they think I act too paranoid. It's like don't touch my car, is it too much to ask? |

I just used the Dr Colorchip product on one really small chip a few minutes ago. Very happy with the results. My car is Black so less issues with blending like some have mentioned

I have to agree. I completely OCD with my car but Im almost sure that I will end up with one. My other car has had 2 dings in the last 3 years so Im almost certain that my car will end up with some too.

Would the automotivetouchup.com paint pen be ok or is it better to stick w/ a paint and a brush?

cut the brush on a angle, quickly swipe the brush in a stroking method once its been in the paint then gently dab the spot, dont stroke it like your painting a room.
This was one of my jobs in the paintjob, paint repair. when i was done, you couldent even tell there was touchup paint on it. |

yea, get used to it. the paint on these cars sux! by the time 2 more years go by my black 2 SS will be primer colored as the faster you drive the faster the paint disappears. my 92 Z/28 has more paint and less chips on the nose than my 2010 and its never been painted and has about 140000 miles on it. never mind it was the teal color which peeled the worst with the exception of that purple of the same years.

Hi guys just joined the forum 1 week ago after receiving my 2011 1SS black on black. Also yesterday received my first chip 2mm squared measurement.. Seems like GM just threw the paint on a metal surface. My recent Ford Mustang had a Teflon coat over the paint that kept it chip free for years, I was told that Protective coat can be applied to any car at body and paint shops. When filling in paint chips remember that the paint primer makes colored paint look a certain way and just touching up the bare surface with touch up paint wouldn't give you the correct color match.

I used a couple of bottle of touch up. Apply some color paint with a tooth pic to fill in the color, apply a bit of clear coat to raise the area a little, (work in as small an area as you can) finger wet sand the small area with 3000 sand paper until flat, use 3M rubbing compound to clean the scratches and then your favorite wax...Take it to the dealer if you muff it up....highly unlikely, I think, good luck!
