Get them ceramic coated and barrels get clean with just a power wash.

I'll second the wheel woolies, they work great. I also use p+s brake buster non-acid wheel cleaner. I get it from auto geek. Really cuts the brake dust and dirt on my 1LE wheels. Makes it super easy to clean. I used to spray it on undiluted, let it sit for 2 minutes, then pressure wash off, didn't even need the wheel woolies, wheels super clean! Now I doit without the pressure washer, spray it on, use the wheel woolies and a super soft bristle wheel brush. You can do it either way.

I ceramic coated the wheels which helps make clean up a ton easier.

It can get way in there and even helps with cleaning the calipers.
If you have a lot of baked on brake dust, try Iron X, it does wonders on brake dust removal.
Here's a link for the Woolies
And for the Iron X
I took your advice and ordered a set of the Wheel Woolies. They look like they will do the job awesomely well. Thanks to JGiovando who recommended these handy brushes.

Thanks very much. I wasn't too fond of the stripe package, but it was ordered from the factory and applied by the dealership. I thought I could remove it fairly easily if I decided to. But, now, I think it adds a little to the appearance. The 1LE wheels are a definite plus and when I got them basically free, who wouldn't like them?! Also, the spoiler package on the 1LE is killer and this car had the same painted body color.

When the insurance company sold the car (technically) to my buddy, it took him a few weeks to get the parts. He put an SS spoiler trunk (looked awful) on it and the paint on the trunk and bumper cover wasn't up to my standard. I sold him the wheels and tires off my new Camaro and surprisingly they looked good on the car, but certainly not as good as the 1LE wheels. Anyway, I drove it after he fixed it up and, no question, the 1LE is an awesome, awesome car and I do miss the very positive handling and braking of the 1LE and the PDR. I only drove the car 4 times...bringing it home in the rain was the first and convinced me to be extra cautious in wet weather. The rest of my drives were in cold early March weather and you couldn't give it full throttle because of the traction problem on cold days. But, it was awesome and I do miss it. My SS would easily beat it on the drag strip and I know that isn't the 1LE's forte.

i ceramic coated the wheels. helps tremendously with cleaning. not a dd but i drive the car a lot, wash it weekly. it’s black...after 12k miles the wheels still look new after a bath and i use the leaf blower to dry them (and 99% of the car). if the wheels aren’t clean it takes away from the car, the dark color combo looks great when everything is clean and terrible if any part of it is dirty or half-ass clean.

I'm going to do the same as soon as the weather cools a little here in Tennessee. Even the garage is too hot at the moment...lol.

if you're wanting to make like easier, swap those Brembo pads out for the PowerStop Z26 pads. Very easy to do and you won't believe what a difference it makes.

I used to wipe the wheels face at least 2-3 times a week, just so you could see they were black. Barrels... forget about it. They were a mess.

Since swapping the pads, i've never had to wipe them down. Hit over them when I wash the car and wipe down with an MF towel. Zero brake dust, even in the barrel.

I think that will be my next investment......

I personally use the Eco wheel cleaner (the normal wheel cleaner would probably be too harsh imo) when they start getting bad but soap and water should also do the trick.
I don't know if I told you, but I bought a set of the "Woolies" and they are very good at cleaning every part of the wheel. It's still time consuming, but it sure saves the knuckles.

Yeah...my new Camaro is an auto. I thought the 1LE was a very special car and it was definitely a great driver car. Unfortunately, I had it out only 3-4 short drives in cold weather...not exactly the best time to test the road worthiness of a fast car. My last manual transmission before the 1LE was C6 Grand Sport and the Camaro felt much like the Vette. The Recaro seats in the Camaro seemed confining, but that was the plan to keep the driver seated and in control...lol.
