LT1 Bolt-On Horsepower?

Hey guys. I'm the new, proud owner of a 2017 Camaro 1SS and I've been loving it so far.

I've got the warranty but honestly, the car is just a bit too slow and a bit too quiet for me right now. I've been thinking about a full exhaust from the engine back, deleting the secondary cats along with a CAI and a dyno tune.

My question is what other bolt-ons would you all recommend to wake up the LT1? What sort of horsepower can I expect from a bolt-ons + tune combo? I understand the LT1 makes around 390whp as it stands.

e-85 flex tune
Roto-fab CAI
ported TB and IM
headers

pretty much the best bang for the buck.

I can't really do E85. It's super uncommon out here in Oregon.

Is there a specific guy to go to for porting on the TB/IM? What brand of headers have people been getting? Not looking to break the bank here.

What sort of power have we seen on the dyno with these mods and pump gas?

There's lots of variables but, I'd wager to say, with an M6, you'd likely be around 460whp with a few bolt ons and a solid 93 tune.

You can always checkout the bolt-on section here for good info.

can't really say with pump gas since CAI and flex fuel were my first mods but I'll give you a guesstimate:
Roto-fab CAI: 14hp
e-85: 40hp
headers: 22hp
Ported TB/IM: 20hp

gains from aftermarket exhaust have been minimal.

Welcome to the club! I don't see many Camaro's out here in Oregon. Spring is coming soon, so the great backroads out here are beckoning when the rainy season finally ends (been an unusually wet winter out here, even by Oregon standards).

If you think your SS is slow, what did you come out of before?

I agree on the Roto-Fab CAI, headers, PRAY ported IM/TB & a custom tune for the 91 we have out here.

Keep us informed on how your build progresses & I hope to see you out on the road!

Man, do headers really add that little? Seems like the gen5 LS3s were getting more.

The factory manifolds are real good. They are a tri Y design basically look like a shorty header.

the headers may give more power then that ... but its all in the numbers for example lets say you get a rot fab CAI and if you dyno it and say you got 13hp to the rear wheels with it . then added a good set of headers and you got 15 more hp with them . but if you added them without the CAI they may have given you 20 .
it the same with a tune you may get "x" amount more hp without adding things and you then go and add a CAI . everyone else got 13 hp with adding that but you only got 10 more .
Just because a part is supposed to claim to give you "x" amount of more power and it might ! But dont expect to add claimed 70 hp of 4 or 5 bolt ons and think you are getting 70 more hp, the power gains start to offset
themselves .
........................Numbers are just to put figures down in no way do they represent any true gains claimed or otherwise .

Just for perspective, what are you accustomed to?

As for mods, what's your budget? That always dictates how fast you can go. Full bolt-ons seems to be airbox, ported TB and intake manifold, long-tube headers w/ full exhaust and a tune to tie it all together.

The big power is going to come from a head & cam package, or straight to boost.

Supercharger and headers are a good place to start. Also, I don't have E85 "available" here either - at the pump at least, but you can have 50g barrels delivered to you anywhere in the country. It's more expensive but it's real E85 vs. what you'll find at the pump, which varies by + or - 15. I don't run entire tanks of it, but mix some in for the added octane. You'll need flex tuning for that.

I would leave off the LTs as bang for the buck. $1,500+ for 15 rwhp?

The Rotofab is 5 RWHP for $400. Not so sure about that on too as to BFB if you can get 1/2 that with a different filter. Having said that I love my RF, it looks so cool!
