GM UNFAIRLY RAISING '24 CAMARO PRICES vs '24 CORVETTE ?

On July 13, GM Authority disclosed the 2024 Corvette prices; 2023 vs 2024. They reported individual model figures increases ranging from $1500 , $1800 and $2000. Percentage wise, a smaller increase than levied on the 2024 Camaro which has been reported here and elsewhere to be at or near $2600.
Conventional wisdom tells us that pricing for the Corvette vehicle- being a mid-engine, sheet molded plastic structure (with composites), newer tooling , unique assembly etc., vs. the nine year old Camaro architecture (a likely fully cost amortized vehicle) should be greater.

What about destination costs? Increase the same. Gee whiz GM, then why not ship the Camaro fully draped in a white cover, too? Camaro owners covet their cars just as much, maybe more. And transport insurance is likely higher on the much more expensive Corvette.
Don't get me wrong, I've owned three Corvettes(all C3s) and love the marque, but why penalize Camaro buyers ? It doesn't make sense . I'd like for some GM insider who reads this to make a case from a BUSINESS perspective as to why .

Maybe they are factoring in the fines they have to pay .gov for missing emissions/mpg targets into the price.

GM stopped caring in late 2018 when Camaro chief engineer (for 33 years and 8 months) Al Oppenheiser was reassigned to the electric Hummer.

This feels like one last cynical milking of the Camaro faithful.

Bingo. They do not give two craps what the Camaro “faithful” do. It’s a free country (sort of) so you can buy something else if you choose.

GM has raised prices on the Camaro every year for a long time. What do you guys not understand about it’s GM’s game, and they can play it however they want? “Fairness” isn’t ever an issue. GM hasn’t supported the Camaro with significant upgrades or marketing dollars for years, but hardcore Camaro enthusiasts still step up and say, “Thanks for kicking me in the (insert your favorite body part reference here), may I please have another?”

That’s what I just did, and I’ve almost stopped limping.

I bought 5 new Vettes in the last 10 years, a C6 and 4 C7s. All were incredible cars. The mid engine Vettes are ugly as ffff in appearance.

The 6 gen Camaro is the best looking vehicle available today. I paid Corvette tax for a decade, and now I'm paying Camaro tax on my 24 1SS 1LE but I'm cool with it as I feel lucky to have been able to get one. 10 years ago it was so easy to get a Vette, not to mention at 8 to 10 grand under sticker. Today it is hard to even find a dealer with a Camaro allocation.

My only major complaint is how long they kept everyone in the dark about what would be available trim-wise, especially with the CE package for the '24s. So I foolishly waited too long and lost out on being able to order a '23. All the while KNOWING GM would not only just offer a special color w/ badges as the CE for a crazy cost, but since it's the last year with limited production numbers, they would bump the price up. The real kicker tho, we couldn't get certain orders accepted for '23s because they were saving the parts for the more expensive '24 orders. The bean counters know what they're doing.

Chevy announced today that the base 2024 Corvette Coupe and Convertible would go up by $2,000. They are the only new Corvette models with prices starting under $100K.
