Recently here someone was driving in the foothills not far where I live and somehow drove off the road. Ended up 500 feet down the hill and away from the road. OnStar reported the position of the car over 40 miles away on the opposite side of the valley. The police searched the area an obviously never found her or the car. The next morning OnStar reported the car at the drivers house. It was still upside down at the crash site, no where near the home of the driver. Finally someone called the drivers cell phone provider and was able to triangulate her position using the cell phone.

Kinda lost any faith I had in OnStar.

Glad you're ok! Sure looks better than my 30 mph run in with a steel fence which happened just a week ago. The front bumper pieces on mine were snatched off, but the rest of the car did its job. Don't worry though, it'll be back together soon enough. Good luck!

Also, not sure how much it takes to set off crash sensors but, I had an estimated $11,500 in damage and neither airbags nor OnStar was activated. A family friend totaled her new Yukon a few years back from being hit in the side by a drunk driver. Flipped her vehicle and OnStar didn't activate. I think it's hit and miss, but I'm not taking any chances. Ifeel that being able to lock, start and track your car remotely is a plus.

wow, we were both hit on the same day. I made thread on here last week about my accident and its similar to yours. I was hit in the driver side door by someone who ran a red light. OnStar was on the line before my car came to a rolling stop. for a second I thought I was dead and it was Jesus talking to me . And I agree about the smell of the air bags. I didn't know what the smell was at the time. I thought something was leaking from my car and my instinct was to get out as soon as possible. Some of the dust got in my jacket that I was wearing, didn't know at the time. later that night I put my jacket in the closet and went to bed. woke up the next morning and it was the first thing I smelled. Had a flash back to the accident instantly.

It's good to see you're doing good. It doesn't look to bad for a 60mph hit

man, the camaros are taking a beating here recently. A member in our club took on a train with his camaro this weekend (and lost). He is okay, and I think the train made it through the accident, but the camaro, not so much.

Glad you are okay, the car will be repaired!

Always sad to see a camaro in that condition. But as long as your OK. I'm sure your baby will be OK. Give it the TLC she deserves. Good luck belle.
