8K markup on a stripper? Yeah NO!!! If They gave me fair market for the Scat and my fathers GM Employee - the wife and I would be heading out tomorrow,

but, alas, these are not the times we live in anymore

Fran, all ZL1s are equipped and not stripped. Most have some options like mine and some more options. If you want a ZL1 then special order one with no options.

Now you are talking, brother.

I know guys, such as yourself, like verts, but for me, just no man.

Screw them too,

I just picked mine up for $1K under MSRP. F’ them!

Ok, fair enough - but 8K for a car without 8K of options I could get a bunch of goodies. As for ordering, not how I roll.

When I started looking I saw a few verts for MSRP, maybe A10’s, but I skipped over them so don’t know.

Mine wasn’t even in when we started the paperwork. I was seeing some mark-ups so… well, I’ll just let the texts speak for themselves.

You're looking for a stripper ZL1?

IMO I would just buy the LT1 Camaro and then throw on a super charger, and upgrade the brakes and some other stuff.

Make it faster than a ZL1 AND save some cash and have something really unique with the features that you picked out yourself.

That certainly is a viable option, if all you want is the power, but a ZL1 is about so much more than that. Even a stripper is so far beyond a LT1 in terms of included factory equipment it’s not even a comparison.

As someone who contemplated that exact pathway on a 1SS, yet I’m balls deep into my 2nd ZL1, I have to humbly disagree.

It’s not about just the power, but everything that comes with it.

Granted a vert lacks the eLSD it’s still leaps & bounds above a LT1 with a blower in many ways. Which OP had IIRC.

When I think stripper I think bare bones.

TBH though when it comes to Camaro in general I'm not buying it for it's handling abilities. I see it as a muscle car. I want the fast in a straight line. If I want a true sports car I'd get a Corvette or Porsche.

Gone are the days when GM had a 20% off sale on the ZL1's cause there were so many still on the lots everywhere. Bought mine when they were mid fifty's new from several dealers.
