On/off check engine light

Was driving this morning in the rain, I noticed my check engine light on. Seemed like it was struggling to be on. Then after shutdown and restart light did not come back on. I took car to dealer as I was due for oil change and did the differential fluid while it was there also. I told them about it thinking it would have stored the code. When I picked up the car they said no stored codes. CEL was not on. After about 5 miles it turned back on. I turned around went back to dealer they scanned it. Came back "unreadable". The adviser is also a neighbor of mine. He told me the tech wants to go through the car carefully it will take him a few hours. I told him I would bring it back Monday. My car is 100% stock with only 3300 miles on it. Any ideas?
