Lower Steering Wheel Plaque
I'm not exactly sure what it's called, but the Plaque on the lower part of my steering wheel was peeling. Looked kind of ugly so I purchased a new replacement.
Taking off the old one and installing the new one was easy and only took a couple of minutes. The part is not glued and using a plastic automotive trim removal. I slid it in between the plaque and the steering wheel far enough to be able to lift the plaque free. I did it that was so as not to damage the leather. When installing the new one, slide it in on an angle under the air bag. When it's all the way up, lay it down and hit it in the center to seat it. The top one on my leg is the older one. I did notice that the part numbers are different.

Looks good! Mine did the same thing - the paint was peeling off. I took the part off and peeled/cleaned all the top coat of paint off. The peeling paint came off much like plasti-dip paint does. Once cleaned off it looked fine. It was just a little glossier but not that noticeable of a difference. I figured a new one would just start peeling again.

If I would have thought about it, I would have done the same. But would have picked up a rattle can and sprayed it.
