Agreed. Just shop around, you'll find a deal on a new one. Get a Costco membership btw. $3000 off if you have a membership.

It's getting harder to find the deals right now since the conquest cash only applies to current Mustang owners. There was a good rebate for other vehicles owners which I qualified for, but it expired on 7/31.

Is there any hidden changes or updates for 2018 that make it worth the price delta? I'm flexible on the options for the most part, but I stuck on the combination...Nightfall Gray coupe with an M6.

I just don't think I could. Especially a car that is only a year or two old. Makes me think it might have been a lemon, or it was beat to hell, or any other number of bad things to make someone get rid of it quickly.

Now a car 5 to ten years old that's had like one owner maybe I could do that, but a fairly new car I don't think I could.

if you buy a used car with less than 1500 miles most loan companies will still consider it new (Depending on year as well) and give the lower new interest rate. I was able to get 1.9% new interest rate on a 2018 zl1 with 450 miles. If it had 1501 miles it would have been 3.7%.

OP I would go lightly used to at least partially save the initial depreciation hit. 100% for sure the smartest move. I would have done that but I could not find one within 500 miles in one of the colors + sunroof. But I did get about $9K off my new one.

The only thing I question about a used performance car with low miles is, is that the one Motor Trend used for their tests or a bunch of journalists tracked etc..

In theory the car is made to do all that and has a warranty etc.., so no big deal but I do question where a low mileage car like that comes from. I'm not sure how those review cars are broken in or prepared. Honestly id like to know.

One car Id like to know what happened to is the Nurburgring 1LE?

Where did that one wind up? Id image when it was done being tested it was sold as a used car.

You read about the old corvette race cars from the late 50s and early 60's being repainted new interiors and some stock mods being put back and them being sold as used cars. Kind of neat when you think about it.

I know what happened to the one that was part of the reveal at Daytona.

Been searching new high and low, just seems like the inventory is drying up and the big discounts have evaporated. Dammit!

Every time I think about it what comes to mind is that one nutcase in his brand new ZL1 sitting in the dealership lot roasting the tires like a complete ape. But of course when he sells it or trades it in, "oh never been abused", "babied from day 1", etc. I don't want something that someone else disrespected. I work too hard to spend my money that way. Sure there are warranties and such. But still.

Now a Z06, THAT I would buy used. For the most part people tend to take care of Corvettes.

It doesn't really matter man. There's no harm in buying used as long as you use common sense and go with your gut. Cars like this are much more often babied than beat on. I'd say go with the best deal you can find. Whether it's used or new would be secondary to me. I've bought both ways and never had an issue.

Well boys I think I finally found the deal I'm after! Only problem is it's 647 miles (10.5) hours away. Not a problem, I like driving, I just only get two days off of work. SO!

U-Haul trailer and tow it home?

Fly in and drive it home?

Only problem with flying is that the closet airport is 100 miles away, and I kinda don't want to break the car in on a long highway ride like that.
