I have Borla S Type with carbon tips with npp valves. honestly, I was so tired of loud and raspy that I went this direction and could not be happier.

OEM.
Not only because when you eventually DO get headers you'll wish you still had it. |

There is a lot of truth in that. I have LT headers with the stock NPP exhaust, and if I couldn't close the valves for cruising, the car would likely cease to be streetable (as in, it would lack almost any willing passengers over here).

All it takes with headers are a couple of resonators or the magnaflow muffler mod, and it’ll sound very similar to a catback with no headers. It really takes the edge off. I tried multiple configurations with and without secondary cats and with and without headers and the end result with headers and resonators is by far the best sounding combination I tried.

Just did a Borla Atak on my '18 ZL1. Great system, not obnoxious, no drone, just glorious sound when you want it.
Beats the Roush on my truck....that thing drones like crazy. I know, apples and oranges but drone sucks! lol |

There is no “favorite“, if there was we would all be running the same set up. Choosing the best exhaust by internet poll is crazy, it’s all so subjective other than whether it fits. For example, I think muffler deletes sound like ass, some guys love that sound. FWIW, I run a catless American Racing 3 inch full exhaust behind my headers. To me, it sounds great, low deep rumble at idle, controlled growl at part throttle, full on roar above that, always with a deep tone. Some drone at part throttle, but not loud enough to be annoying or easily noticeable. I love it, my son thinks my 2005 GTO sounded way better. So there you go, two different opinions in the same house.
