Info. on DELAYED ZLE production?
Anyone have info. on why a built ZL1 with the 1LE package would go from status 4000 Ready to Ship to a DELAYED status? I've surpassed one year now since I ordered this 2021 car at dealer #1 then moved to dealer #2 who had an actual allocation but then got pushed to a 2022 model. Still no car, no ETA and no order info. available except "DELAYED" status. Thanks for any info.

Interesting change though Ive heard here that its not too rare to see something regress in the status codes. This stuff isn't just frustrating its infuriating sometimes.

Total guess on my part, but if the car was indeed built already, the only thing I can think of is GM's reluctance to ship ZLEs during cold weather, as the tires can (and will!) crack. My car had to have 4 new tires installed at the dealership because of that, at GM's cost.

Geoff[/QUOTE] I felt like the tires would be an issue we'd have to inspect at the dealership as the car has been built and outside in the frigid temps since 1/31. Tire replacement and back to "cold storage" outside doesn't make any sense either. They can't be waiting until Spring to put on new tires then ship the car can they? Please tell me this can't be. Infuriating at this point!    plus some more emojis that I couldn't use on this forum.

Its a shipping issue.
If the car is already built then its simply a matter of transportation logistics. Could be railcar or a truck problem. I will be putting down an order for a ZLE myself soon and I'm just going to assume I won't see the car for a year and a half. |

zl1 1les get shipped by truck only they never go on a train and it can take several months to get on a truck (ask me how I know) that combined with snow in the parking lot and these cars don't move very well on the snow making it hard to load them can lead to delays. The 1st one I ordered in 2018 looked like they tried to sand in front of the car to help load and they filled behind the grille and in the brake duct area with sand as well as chipped the paint in numerous areas so I refused it and they ordered another one so I had to wait multiple times for a car to get on a truck. best of luck with your car and check it over well when you get it.

Part of alleviating the shipping thing for myself was to order from Joe and then fly up and drive it back.
If they ever build it. :( |

Update: car went from DELAYED status yesterday to the actual delivery of the car to the dealership this afternoon. Finally! There really is no way to know when these cars will be built and delivered but after 1 year and 1 day since my initial order at the first dealer, my ZLE has finally arrived! For those of you who have working Camaro orders, patience, patience, patience. Here is the car upon truck delivery to TN inside the dealership.
