Prototype Silvers 2way coilovers

Im back with more Silvers suspension things. If you have read my previous thread about the regular coilovers I had or follow me on ig (joey _376) you would know I have enjoyed them. But on the quest to expand our market I reached out with an idea for a new 2way coilover option for us.

I have recently installed the first attempt at them and fitment is successful. Running the external hard-mounted canister did seem like a bit of a challenge with how tight the rear suspension is but these guys came up with the idea to invert the rear shock which fit perfectly.

So as for problems we have 2. First problem is ride height. When fully lowered (with roll center in mind) it is still a bit high. They would require shorter shock bodies which in turn give you less suspension travel. The 2nd problem is we over valved them, since I switched to a higher spring rate then the normal kit so the ride is quite solid on all settings so when we get this worked out and I will then be able to give you guys a better drivability review.

Do you think running a 315 tire in the back will hit the reservoir?

Depends on the offset. I run 305s at an aggressive offset and its got plenty of space.. stock ss wheels fit fine as well

2nd set has been fitted and its looking good, slightly shorter shock bodies but the ride height is better. I will be working out some different spring rates for my setup personally.
By spring time ill be on the track testing them.

Have you measured the total suspension travel? I believe my one way's are like 4 or 4.5" of total travel.

Do you know if they're actually available to purchase yet?

I don't think they are available for purchase yet. The first set had about 4.2 inches of travel and the second set has about 3.9 inches. Once they're satisfied with testing ill ask about a ETA for public release.

They're on their website for purchase. I asked them about purchasing just the dampers and shock body because I already have everything else from them, springs, perches, camber plates. They'd only discount it 150 bucks, kinda disappointing.

Hopefully after I get the two ways I can sell the old set for 5 or 6 hundred bucks and recoup some of the cost.

Yea i guess you should just take the whole setup so you can sell yours for a little more as fully assembled set. What rates do you plan to use?

I have the 8k/12k Swift springs on the car now. I am pretty happy with how the car handles, so I'll keep those with the new dampers.

Ok cool. I wanted more oversteer from the first set so I went to 8k 14k. But i may still drop the fronts to 6 or 7k to balance the bounce frequency.

Between the dampers and the adjustable sway bars I was able to dial in the balance pretty good. I had some oversteer at first, and some understeer when I changed tires. Both times I was able to tune it out pretty easily. The rear bar is set to stiff now and the front on the middle setting. Dampers are set 2 clicks from the max in the front and max in the back. I'm sure a change in spring rates would be beneficial but I am not smart enough to make the right decision on what to get.

As long as youre happy with how it turns then thats all that matters. I noticed fortune auto finally dropped coils for us. The gen7 but the 1 ways are 1900$ thats nuts. But they are using the same spring rates i settled on as a default. It is definitely oversteer prone with that setup

Literally took less than 2 weeks to get these. The dampers seem to be much stiffer than the one ways. I'm confident that'll translate well to the track and they won't need to be maxed out like my rears are currently set. Should be installed and aligned before Laguna on 1/22. Didn't want it to be a test and tune day, but wasn't expecting to get these this quick either.

Nice, ya i had to have my rears maxed out too on the 1way. Im in peak winter right now, its 18 degrees so track days are a bit off but let me know how they are at Laguna.
