Trading in my 2021 1le 10 speed🙄 for a 2018 zl1 1le

Love the car!! But I'm trading it for a 2018 ZL1 1Le with only 13,000 miles I'm immaculate condition. Does anyone out there that has one care to chime in. I know the ride is rough but eh it's not my daily so not worried, will changing the tires help at all lol, how do you like the handling

Well, I’ll chime in, but not necessarily on a positive note. Why wouldn’t you wait till prices come down? As well, there’s the possibility that the car your buying had or will have the dreaded oil pump failure. Do you know for certain that this car hasn’t been tuned? You’re giving up a lot of warrantee at a high price.. just doesn’t make a lot of sense (to me). Sorry to be a Debbie Downer… I do understand the excitement, just being a realist, that’s all.

When prices come down so does the value of OP's car, it'll be a wash, or at least it should be. Though you are correct in that giving up warranty is probably not a great idea especially if that ZLE has been tuned.

2021 for a 2018 bad equity trade. the interest rate on a used car loan will be high and that car is not worth $65.000.

Hmmm. I mean it's your car and your cash, but I'd never do that. Your '21 is a better looking car as well.

Even if it comes with 3 year bumper to bumper that covers everything??

“Trading in a 2021”

That sounds messed up from the start.

I understand. Even if it has 3 year 36000 bumper to bumper?

Nope, not even if it has that warranty. I never would.

I mean, if he wants to keep the ZLE long term, it's going to be an absolute classic (especially if it's an M6) as the first model year for the ZL1 1LE that set the Nürburgring record. The oil pump is a risk, but if he gets a complete warranty, it's not likely to fail only after that. Or he can get it replaced preemptively.

Just saying these things, I'm not trying to convince OP one way or the other, but the ZLE is a different beast.

Just my opinion, but no I wouldn’t do it. If I wanted a Zl1 1LE, I’d bite the bullet and order one. I’d sell the non primary car… the SS 1LE for a great resale price (now).

I don’t know who’s providing the 3 year warrantee (if it’s Vroom, I’d run away) Even then, for this type car, it doesn’t make a lot difference to me (personally). I don’t like having to worry about potential issues (oil pump) or unknown issues (tune /mods / previous owner beat the snot out of it). Take that for what it’s worth. I’m not you…. you know what’s important to YOU. So, if it makes you happy, go for it.
