Thanks for the kind words folks! I will think about the rear calipers. No offense was taken.

Those rear brakes are perfect for those putting 15" wheels and drag tires on.
Really like this LT1 |

But it sucks that they charge the same price for the red fronts on the LT1 as they do for doing both front and rear on the SS - should be half the price, unless I'm missing something.

I don’t believe that is true. I thought the same thing when the LT1 was released, but remember reading somewhere on this board that it’s actually more of a pain to get a 15” drag wheel on the rear of the LT1... I’m happy to be corrected if someone has concrete info on this though.

I forgot to mention another first yesterday after the wash... Got the back end loose for the first time! Gave it some juice out of a left turn from the main street in my development onto another street. Got the back tires a little loose with a little slip. Still in break in period at under 200 miles!

Even after adding the 1LE wheels, it wasn’t looking sinister enough, so I did a thing.

+2 ...and side skirts, plus I'd remove the ugly flappy rubber air diverters from underneath the front splitter. Now these three changes would crank the sinister factor straight up to 9.5.

Finally got around to an alignment after installing all the BMR rear suspension pieces. I thought I had eyeballed the rear toe rods to be close to stock...the machine said I was full of crap.

If needed, check out my Labor Day post.
Gave up ol' Smokey (my cleverly nicknamed Ashen Gray Gen5) for adoption today to take the yet-to-be named 2022 home. It sure felt like "giving up" as Stealwater Motors certainly pulled some terrible tricks today, but a li'l namaste about that for now. Patriot Day certainly means more than my silly tale, but I bought my first new car in December 2001, a 40th Anniversary Grand Prix GTP, largely compelled by Peter Coyote telling us to "Keep America Rolling." On 9/11 of 2009, I took my first and only Harley home. By complete happenstance my new Camaro was ready for delivery today. It's a humbling coincidence, so let's keep this simple: America. |
