The car is a steal even with the increased cost. It was ridiculously underpriced until now for what it offers. With supply chain issues driving prices up on everything, an increase seems logical.

Agreed, still a performance bargain. What else is there to compare to? Maybe a C8 Stingray 1LT with Z51? Hellcats are more money and offer less, IMO. New Mustangs are on the way but I am sure anything in the ZL1 performance category is going to be big money.

IM out. Im selling my Zl1. I love cars and all been buying cars (over 40 ) for 25 years. There comes a time when a car is "worth" It. and then it comes to a time where the prices are literally with markups also included just pissing money away. soon anything but a small 20 hp car is gonna be 100k average. The prices of cars have gone up more in the last 3 years then they have in the last 30 its all gonna break it has too. It wont be long and cars will once again like in the 20s only be for the upper class rich cause they are the only ones who can afford them. I got a lotus emira coming and thats gonna be my last "fun" car. I got better things to do with my money then just throwing it out a window on cars. plus what are they thinking? lets go ahead and mark up a car thats a poor seller and being canceled 4K... Those 300 guys in the entire country that still want one are getting screwed.

The whole thing with cars now just makes me sad. maybe the whole thing will crash and cars will go back to normal prices and I can decide to have a fun car again. just because you can afford something doesn't mean you should buy it. over paying for something is just throwing money away. I for one worked to hard for my money to do that.

I’m hoping many people back out of their ZL1 1LE orders, so mine gets built sooner

It is frustrating for sure but the current supply and demand situation is what dictates the market price. From what I see they are basically looking at a 5-6% MSRP increase across the models? Even companies like Tesla that sell direct have seen huge increases over the past year or so. I was surprised the MSRP price did not increase for 2022. Essentially 2021/2022 normalized MSRP pricing, 2023 is getting the increase. They just can't build that many of them right now.

Remember, when we could buy these Camaros for 20% off? I don't think that really ever happens again since there is no supply and the Camaro program is being sunset.

Not canceling mine. The way I see it, the value of my 2022 just went up $4k. So when I trade it in for the 23, it'll be a wash.

You knew inflation would hit here to. Every manufacturer will have to do the same. So glad I got my 22 when I did, sorry for those who are still waiting for their orders, this does suck.

As someone waiting for a 992 GT3 or GTS, I completely understand where you are coming from. Why would you sell now though and not hang on to it when you got it for what you did?

Note also new 2023 ZLE models will no longer have the carbon fiber rear wing either. Supplier problems and cost now have the rear ZLE wing made I presume of some sort of less expensive composite material. Those vivid orange metallic and rapid blue ZLE's built as 2022 models just moved into an exclusive club based on very low production numbers with carbon fiber components. Hang onto these if you have 'em!

I think you are wrong. The ZLE wing is no longer available on the regular ZL1, but it’s still standard on the ZLE. My description on my order says “T42: Spoiler, Rear, Visible Weave Carbon Fiber”

I am starting to feel this same way. These prices are crazy already and I was debating for the last 6 months to order a 2023 ZL1 or a C8 and now this puts the ZL1 squarely in the I am not going to pay that much dept......some people will think its fine but for me and my budget an extra 3K is more than I am willing to spend.

Interesting thoughts. I’m wondering exactly how many ZL1’s were built and sold for the ‘22 MY. If supply issues continue, it could mean a jump in value for those of us lucky enough to have gotten a ‘22 ZLE.

Supply has been low for 21, 22 and it will be again for 23. This is mainly why I succumbed to paying MSRP for my 2021. It was the first time I ever paid MSRP for a vehicle but deep down I didn't think the supply chain issues would be resolved as quickly as some had hoped. Then you add in the fact that GM is sunsetting the Camaro and putting all their effort into EVs. To me, that meant that even if they could build a large supply of Camaros, they wouldn't. They would focus their limited supply of chips and components on the higher margin and demand associated with pickups and the Corvette.

If you recall, there was very little difference in price between supplier and MSRP on Camaros. I think it was only around $2500. Price had to go up on the Camaro as a result.

Because right now the gas is 5 bucks plus here and going up. Washington state just said they are expecting 10 a gallon gas at some point. and where i live here in the mountains with nothing but inclines and curves im averaging 11 miles to the gallon. IM just playing the odds. if gas goes up to 10 a gallon is anyone really gonna want a 11 mile to the gallon car? I dont. I got mine for msrp and only had to wait a couple weeks so im not really vested in it. Ive already got a deal going and am being given 4k over what I bought it for so... IM not loosing. BMWs new M50 all electric you cant buy and have to wait a year for but..... I called 50 plus dealers until I found one that was wiling to sell me their demo. picking it up in a few days and it comes with zero charging costs for 2 years. It will be a fun cheap car until the emira gets here.
