Maggie 2650 Kit Availability

Hey all, I was in the process of a build with a 2.9 Whipple and things have gone awry, that's a topic for another discussion though. I was on the hunt for a 2650 quickly and found someone that has them in stock. I ordered mine and it shipped the same day. If you are in the market for one, let me know and I'll send you the name of the shop. Not sure I can just post that here, not trying to break any rules. Also, I'm not affiliated with the shop/retailer in anyway. I just know some have been waiting MONTHS to get a 2650.

You can just post the name of the shop here. It would not be a violation of the rules. I noticed a shop had a bunch of 2650s but I can't remember which one it was. I saw them on one of the FB groups.

Oh wait, according to the rules only paying vendors can post commercial or advertising thru posts or messaging. So it might not be allowed even if you sent a message. LOL!!

Yeah I thought there was a rule against advertising for outside vendors and what not, hence why I said 'send me a message.' If that's still not OK the admins can lock this thread and/or delete it then. I was just trying to do some people a solid that might be on the hunt for this stuff! Some sites said 14 weeks!!!

Yea and considering how things are going, if I were in the market for one, I would buy it now. The company selling them has them at a decent price. I just have no idea how they got soo many. Unless perhaps they had them all along and the units didn't sell. It's not like they're a well known name. Anyway, this is the time to grab them.

Consistent with the views of most members here on various parts, if you're (rhetorically speaking) going to order a 2.65L, and tend to ask increasingly more of your cars, you should seriously consider modifying it first to get the most out of it the first time around, rather than installing a stock unit and coming back later and removing/shipping/modifying/reinstalling. My $.02 on this.

Yeah that's why I'm getting a 2650, skipping the "modify the stock blower" headache.

If anyone goes this route, with any of these power adders, it seems to me you should jump on any deals, discounts, or availabilities ASAP. Things aren't going to get cheaper (and I'm not talking about inflation or anything political).

I'm actually thinking about purchasing a kit. I have the Whipple 2.9 and I am more than satisfied with it for my current goals. And there is room to grow with it. But I can't help thinking that I might want more than what the Whipple 2.9 can handle in the future. And pretty soon it might be darn near impossible to get a 2650 at a reasonable price or to get one at all. So I'm thinking I might need to jump on one now and just let it sit until the point where I know what I'm gonna do with it.

Same with LTs too. They already cracked down on catless systems. Most companies won't even sell the units that they've already had in stock. Some will but they can't get any more units. And pretty soon there's gonna be a crackdown on even HF catted systems. Going further, they'll probably hit aggressive aftermarket cams and other items. So it might be a good idea to jump on anything and everything now while you still can and while they're still available and at a decent price. Because I also don't think we're gonna see too many good Holiday sales like in year's past.

I've got a KongX, and don't consider it a headache. Rather, it is a solid mod that had the potential to satisfy my needs but didn't quite make it due to the extreme altitude here. It's the only mod that I've replaced or done twice with this car [other than tires].

As you can see in my sig, I've ordered a 2650. It's all fun or at least it should be.

He's talking about the headache of removing the stock blower, shipping it, waiting for it to come back, then re-installing it and having it tuned...and then if he isn't satisfied he would have to source and pay for a 2650 blower, remove the ported blower, install the 2650, and then sell his ported system. It is a lot of steps involved as opposed to just ordering the 2650 from the start and being done with it. Even if he recoups his money from the cost of the ported blower there is still the cost of extra labor, extra tuning, extra downtime, etc if a shop does the work. At $100-$150 an hour for labor and rates of $750+ for the tuning, that is a lot of extra money. For a lot of people that is a headache when you can buy a 2650 outright and then sell the stock system. And when you factor in all the costs involved, end of the day you will have spent the same or close to the same. That is, if the person is not satisfied. OP seems like he knows he won't be satisfied with the stock ported blower so for him all these steps would be a headache. That is what he meant.

Has anyone here done just a M2650 swap, keeping the stock headers / primaries + rotofab? Just curious of the gains without an abundance of additional mods. Thanks

Been discussed all over the forums. You wont gain as much if you don't add headers. I would say 75-90hp without headers. I gained 110 (with headers)
