Anybody using a Janetty Tune?

How do you like it? Did they dial in both MAF and Speed density or only MAF and turn off SD?

Looking for a second big name tuner this time to see if any improvements can be found. Locally I'm considering Tampa tuning and Faster proms as well.

I had emailed Pray, got a response asking a question but never heard back after I answered it, so not sure if he is interested or not.

Thanks for the replies. Did either of you look at your tunes to see if Speed density was tuned or turned off? If I am gonna spend that kind of money again I prefer it get tuned .

I've gotten help from Ted on another car (Gen III LS) and he was great. Can't comment on Gen Vs and if he does VVE though.

Are you having trouble?

I think Jeremy, over at Fasterproms tunes VVE, but that's going off memory from one of his videos. It seems like he'd be a good calibrator to reach out to.

I know of another car having experience with a calibrator over at the HPTuners forums and he did a good job. I don't think he though it was necessary to tune for SD in that situation though. I do think further SD-tuning has helped that car, but that tune that calibrator performed was a GREAT starting-off point. This car will spin warm drag radials on the street at 80-plus MPH and spin them from a roll through 3rd gear. A lot of time was spent torque tuning.

I think the car could use a "Fine Tuning" and include SD in it. I gave it a shot myself but finally went back to MAF only as i wasnt happy with it. I think its one of those parameters i need a professional to setup. I was gonna call Jeremy today. They are somewhat local(Clearwater, Florida) and im Tampa. I just don't want to waste the money as i spent a lot for the initial tune Plus what i paid for the Tuning School course. I think i have narrowed my choices to Fasterproms, Janetty, Goats Garage, and was also considering Pray, but he isnt responding since my initial email. If any try to talk me out of or don't do SD then they will get dropped from the list.

What weren't you happy with? Was it the low-speed and idle-type driving from before? I'm totally with you on SD-tuning though.

I might know another alternative, but I don't like posting non-Sponsors when we have perfectly good ones. From videos I've seen, Jeremy seems to know what he's doing. I hear Pray isn't too good at responding sometimes, but have not had any experience. He results seem to speak for themselves, though.

I harp on it, but I've finally seen a car that seems to have benefitted from torque tuning, A LOT. All that is shaped around MAF/VVE (and other stuff, too), and once it seemed the VTT was modeled in such a way that if jived with the MAF/VVE, the car just came alive on the street. We haven't validated that car on the dyno or strip, but that's coming eventually.

I think if they dial in the VVe and look at my WOT again i will be happy with it. It runs ok now and is drivable, but do think it could use a going thru and touched up here and there.

AH. Good. I thought I recalled you were making good headway some time ago.

I'll tell you - seeing a tune with adjusted cam, injector, and a whole slew of other timing and settings was a lot more than I'm familiar with, and that was for a stock-long block car. Going to a good calibrator, like you've already mentioned, is going to be worth it. There is a difference in shift-feel, even on a mostly stock car with a blower, when the VVE isn't tuned. I know I wasn't seeing full power even with a good WB-tuned MAF-tune until VVE/VTT was calibrated accordingly. Now the car spins the tires on shifts like it never had before. There's definitely more shift pressure and such, like King' has posted in the past. It's definitely worth it.

After I had my M6 heads and cam FBO build tuned by a local tuner I wasnt happy at all with the drivability especially when running ethanol so I called Ted. I can say the car drives better than stock, he tweaked the VE and MAF tables as well as other tables t i.e. alcohol startup adder, that werent even touched by the original tuner and made all the difference in exceptional starting, idling, drivability and WOT. The car would fall on its face on the WOT 2-3 shift for some reason when I got it back. After Teds tuning it hit so hard it was a pedal fest to get the 315 R888r's to hookup, I now run 305/45-17 ET street R's and it's a rocket!

I have the JRE125 package and so far it's running good. Only issue I had was that car was overheating at the track. I changed the thermostat from 180⁰ that he uses that 8 believe was stuck for a 174⁰ Katech. Also changed the fan and thermostat temps on HPtuners which looks like he doesn't change. Not sure ifvthat makes a difference but so far working good. Also I believe his tunes are only MAF.

Ted left the fans stock? In the stock tune those things dont come on till practially the water in your radiator is boiling. Find it odd he would put a 180 stat in and not touch the fan settings.

BTW the katech 174 is probably one, if not the best tstat to run in our cars.
