Wrapped the entire car in Matte Paint Protection Film.
Headlights, Wing and hood insert were wrapped in glossy paint protection film.

I also had them black out the door handles.

Not a color change -- the goal is to protect against rock chips and mild door dings, etc. The pictures don't do it justice, it looks really nice (IMO).

Oddly, I also wrapped the black hood, so I guess it's double wrapped. I did it because I'm afraid the OEM black matte hood wrap wont hold up against the meaty rock chips trucks like to kick up around here.

I left the badges off.

Awesome, I have always wondered why more people dont wrap there cars in a satin or matte clear. Just dont see it very often and it looks great !!

I've done it myself in the past and I'm "OK" at relatively flat body panels but the front end is just so hard. So I had a pro do it and I'm glad I did.

It's Suntek Ultra Matte PPF. I probably would have preferred Xpel Stealth but this is the brand that the wrap-guy recommended.

The trade-offs as I understand it are:
Xpel is thicker and more protective against chips.
Suntek has a smoother finish and looks nicer.

protection was my primary goal but hopefully Suntek Ultra will hold up

Yeah me too. I flip-flopped between gloss and matte.
Matte I thought was more unique and looked nicer, but I think the dealership might give me crap about it being harder to resell if I trade it in. I definitely don't want to take the wrap off as I've heard stories about problems.

I have some matte PPF for my hood, I'm trying to decide on whether to remove the black vinyl first though, car is a SS 1LE in Nightfall Grey, so I think the matte hood might look better w/o the black vinyl.

I did the front of my car myself with gloss PPF and am a little sorry I did. It came out pretty good but not quite perfect and it took me all f#$in' day. Saved a ton of cash though, spend $600 on PPF and would have spent $3kish for it all installed. If I were to do it again I'd do it all myself except the front bumper.

Yeah, the front takes a day, and then the rest of the car takes a day haha

If you decide to keep the black matte on the hood, matte ppf looks good on top of the oem matte wrap.

Personally I like the black hood, even on the nightfall grey, adds a nice contrast

The CF hood insert and wing are both wrapped with the Suntek Ultra Glossy and honestly I think it looks shinier/smoother than without it. Almost like a mirror finish.

My favorite thing about PPF is that I don't have to be quite so careful when washing/waxing the car.

Not a fan of matte wrapped vehicles. I know it may be old school, but I think cars, especially my "toys" should be shiny. JMO

But, if the OP likes it and others approve, that's really all that matters. Congrats on your efforts.
