Camaro turns off in 10-15 mins in park

I'm really curious about this one...I was out cleaning my car with the AC on and it just turned off after around 15 mins or so. I did not remote start it. Anyone else experienced this or know why it would do this?

Do you mean the engine was running...then turned off after 10-15 mins?

Probably some "green nanny" feature to prevent you from idling too long..

if you just had the blower fan on, I can see this. Your car should idle for 2 hours before it shuts off, if you started it with key in-car.

if you remote start it, it will idle for 10, but can be refreshed at any time for another 10, up to 20 minutes, after that it requires a key start

For the A/C to work, the car HAS to be running so the compressor operates. You're just blowing in uncooled air from the vents when you use the battery. So to me it sounds like the engine was running.

Yes, the engine was running, the key was in my pocket. Just never seen a car turn off when you start it from inside with the key

how confident are you that you didn't somehow hit the remote start button while it was in your pants?

I've done that with the panic button before, is why I ask.

I'm vaguely remember reading the remote start button will kill it if it's cranked, as long as it wasn't remote-started, twice.

What would be the reasoning behind being able to kill it with the remote? I'm pretty confident I didn't because it would have happened a lot when I was cleaning if I had.

Did you start it again to see if this was a one off occurrence?

My car shuts off after 30 minutes I just assumed this was to keep you from Harming your engine

I noticed both you and op have '19s, I wonder if they changed the idle times on those?

the manual will state how long it will idle, depending on how you start it.
