Track day @ TWS

Here's a video from Track day at Texas World speedway last weekend with chin Motorsports. Best time 2:10 (morning) with a stock 2016 RS. The is a later video from the last session of the day. Camera was acting up all day.

Very cool! Looks like you're carrying some good speed. That looks like a fast track.

Thumbs up

Nice driving!

Good to hear the track is back up and running. I'll have to get out there when I get a chance.

Nice driving. Which tires did you use? Brake pads?

Car is completely stock. Just changed the brake fluid to dot4. Rbf600-motul.
The stock tires have some amazing grip.better than the pzeros ever were.

Wow - you look good at that. How often they do that on that track (I live in Austin) and how much do you need to prep/certify and how much $$ is it?

All I did before I tracked this car (stock) is replaced the brake fluid to DOT 4. The trans gets hot after 15 min of track driving and I have to pit and let it cool down.
I use Motul RBF600. keeps the fluid from boiling in track conditions, you just have to change it more often.
Money, depends on where you go and which club you go with. I am a member of chin Motorsports. The sanction a lot of track days on tracks across the country. Track days range from $199 to $899 (Cota). There's Drivers Edge and many others that sanction track days. They have pkg deals with the tracks to help keep track rental costs down. normally cost 3-5k a day at most tracks. Higher at the more popular venues.
The next track day at MSR at Angleton is $249 coming up in a few weeks.
But you have to be a chin Motorsports member. You pay a small annual fee.

I believe he's an auto. No way either of the Tremec manuals would overheat on a track day in the Camaro. The TR3160 overheats on the GT350 only on the non-track pack (no cooler) cars because of such high RPMs.

A8 in auto, I put it in auto and the temp seems to fluctuate. manual, bam, overheats quick, it doesn't like it! Not a very good system cooling wise. My sessions are short. 10-15 min, sometimes I can get it cooled off enough to manage a few more laps. I am working on a solution since I didn't get the heavy-duty cooling/brake pkg... (money thing at the time)
