Dyno results BTR225 vs FBO vs stock

Since buying my car new in 2018 I've dyno'd at the same location in generally cooler weather to track progress. All work and ecu calibrations (tuning) is done by me.Im not paid or sponsored for this, its information that may with other data collecting nerds like myself.Stock with probably 2 or 3k miles i brought it in for its first dyno.
Bone stock m6 1ss on 93 pump.
I recall it making 404whp and 414tq but i can't find the picture so ill post the one i found which is 400whp 412tq.

For the 2nd phase/ FBO phase the car was fitted with 1"7/8 headers and mid pipes, catless, stock muffler. A JLT intake, LT2 manifold, ported stock tb and ecu settings where made thru hptuners. It made 463whp and 467wtq after some fuel adjustments on the dyno.

3rd phase was 2 cracked piston ring lands after a few years of time trial events. So I rebuilt the engine with Diamond forged pistons, stock c/r, arp rod bolts, head studs and pmax black bearings across the board. While in there i tossed in a brian tooley racing 225 cam, springs etc and had the heads cnc ported. Then added a 95mm tb and ported it because why not. Final numbers after some on dyno adjustments went from 507whp 518whp. After letting the car cool from runs and pulling off the oiled air filter, the car made 528whp and 486wtq and pulls to 7500. Overall pretty satisfied with the results not losing any torque.Name:  20240224_143323_resized.jpg

Do you recall when you made the 1st bone stock pulls where the sweet spot was rpm wise?

Not really, its really linear stock but it. Does die out up top by 6k so i wouldnt spend too much time up near the limiter.

Im debating a bigger custom cam, stall, an 2 in headers next down season.

Thanks. Nothing major, trunions this week, adjusting the wheel frequency rate to be a bit softer and 6pot calipers

Mine is peak at 5800 RPM (stock). Here is a picture for reference.

First row is TIME, 2nd row is RPM, 3rd is Torque, 4th is HP.

Torque holds pretty steady at between 400 to 415 from 2500 to 5200 RPM

This is the 230 cam on E85 with stock LT2, TB, stock exhaust, stock exhaust manifold. The 4 degree VVT advance is also modeled in but its just 4 degrees on/off at 6k. Its compared to stock on gasoline.

You can see its optimistic, but of course dyno sim doesn't simulate accessory loading and stuff like that. So its more of like a gross HP rating than SAE. I also did the runs in good weather.

I've done some other sims and test with other engines and got within a few lb/hr in air mass flow, but I am missing a lot of things I need like intake manifold port taper and I am also relying on flow bench numbers from the internet.

I will say when I degreed my 230 cam and tried to model the lobe I was getting like 253 degrees of exhaust duration, and of course BTR advertises 24X, so we don't really have a number to compare to. I guess it could be 249, but still to me something seemed off in the valve events. But its also hard to do when you don't have a solid lifter.

Sure ya, I emailed them to get the exact data when checking it with the degree wheel. I wasn't pin point accurate because of the lifters but just close enough to know its in spec. By spec mine should be a 247 ivo6.5-38.5 evo 63.5-3.5 and im on 93 but i assume e85 is about 30-40 whp

I guess it's possible the curve fitter just couldn't fit the exhaust open or close ramp due to a radically different profile and that's why the exhaust duration goes into the 250's. However, I believe the main goal of the fitter is continuity since that's a given that a cam will always be smooth and continuous profile (or at least you hope), but we know a lot of the sub 0.020 lift open and close ramp curves mean a lot in terms of aggressiveness of the profile. There is actually a lot that goes into just trying to define a cam profile, and even if you have a high number of discreet lift data through the entire ramp, if you want to tweak the valve events it's not so easy. So a curve fitting approximation, defined by valve closing/opening events is easiest to work with.

When I get some time ill plug in your degree numbers from your 225 cam and compare the 225 to the 230.
