XPEL PRIME XR Question

So I had the car fully tinted including the windshield.
All of the windows except the windshield are perfectly clear to look thru.

The windshield is distorted, like new tint with water trapped before it drys out. Not cheap either, not that that matters if you don't like the end result.
Has anyone with the same film have this?

The film is clear.
Thanks.

Can XPEL be installed on your windshield?

No, XPEL Paint protection film cannot be installed on your windshield. Due to the impact absorbency of paint protection film, the refractive index of the film is too different from that of the windshield.

Seems to explain why things look distorted...

Xpel does both PPF and window tint, as well as ceramic coatings.
I believe the OP is talking about their window tint products.

To the OP, I have Xpel tint on all my windows, but I never had the windshield done. So I can't really answer your question.
Have you talked to your installer about your concern already?

Gotcha...! Makes sense. I don't have experience with putting any product on my windshield either.

I have Stek DynoFlex clear windshield protection on my '22 1LE. I also have distortion but that is only if I look "at" the windshield. There is a difference between looking at the windshield and looking out past it like we do when we drive. I do not notice my distortion during driving. But I would think since the film is tinted any distortion may be more easily noticed even if we look out past the windshield.

I'd talk to your installer. I've had many cars with windshield tinted, none of them have ever given me vision problems, including right after the install. If your installer is a reputable one, they should remedy that immediately free of charge.

I have that in 5% ceramic on my car on everything and nothing on the windshield. I have had way too many problems with windshield tint issues and trash and so on. The rest of the car is dark enough and my car is a garage queen. So no windshield tint for me. The rest of the car looks perfect.

Thanks all for the help.

This film is clear and only blocks heat coming in.

You can feel the difference easily.

No this won't work in a car sitting in the sun all day.

I have talked to the installer and he offered to replace it.

I just hate leaving the car.

It sounds like a thing as far as the one reply.
