Edelbrock E-Force install help

This is my first post on Camaro6 so hello everyone!!

I am currently installing an Edelbrock E-Force 2650 complete base kit on a customers car at work (GM dealership).

I am currently snagged on a section in the instructions. I have read them over 50 times probably with 2 different competent techs and we are all confused as to what they are asking us to do for the same section. I noticed some of the pictures in the binder aren’t from a Camaro, some are from a GM truck and it’s throwing me off.

The front barb fitting closest the the throttle body should have a line going from there to the valley plate correct? Reason I’m asking is because the instructions tell me to run my T-Map line kit from that barb to the brake booster line.. except the brake booster line already has the modified one way check valve line going from the T off in that line to the barb behind the EVAP purge valve. So now if my front barb on the blower goes to the valley plate, my booster line with the check valve goes to the barb behind the purge solenoid then where does the T-MAP rubber line kit plug into?? I’m out of barbs haha!! It honestly seems like either that T-Map hose kit to run the factory MAP sensor does not belong in the kit of I’m missing a barb on my blower. I have 1 fitting with 2 possible connections according to the instructions.

If anyone has pics of that area of their supercharger kit that would be appreciated. Yes I looked online for pics and I cannot find any and I have also used the search functions and didn’t really find what I needed to find.

Thanks, Eric.

Yeah they have a couple of issues/errors with the instructions. Let-alone picture #124 being a truck..

Step #81 takes care of the valley cover PCV to inlet barb.

I believe Step #109 is correct for the brake booster vacuum. Make sure the check valve is flowing the correct direction (suck going to Booster 'T')

Correct me if I am wrong? I believe LT1 does not have an intake (T?)MAP.

So, I think Step #124 should only be for a LT4/ZL1 swap, that does.

Any fittings/barbs or wire harness leftover?

Another reason why I’m asking all of this is because I did not receive the short hose that goes from the valley plate to the front barb on the blower. I figured I did not receive it for a reason and proceeded with the install.. i know that’s my mess up for not doing anything about it but I have gotten and not gotten many parts before with aftermarket kits and turns out it was always for a reason... it’s no big deal it’s an easy hose to make. Now that takes care of the barb at the front of the blower to the valley plate.

I have the entire brake booster line set up the way they want it as per the instructions that’s all easy peasy but then a few steps later or before (sorry don’t have them in front of me) it says to use the front barb on the blower and go to the brake booster hardline and then attach that rubber line T harness they have that uses the factory MAP sensor. Well if i do that, I end up with nothing in my valley plate.. no check valve in the booster line and now my vacuum port behind the purge solenoid on the blower is also open but I end up with no loose connectors on the harness. We all know i can’t go from the vacuum port to the valley plate so that doesn’t take care of my unused ports.. This is why I’m in shambles right now haha.

I have to run the supplied harness for the MAF/MAP sensor because the new MAP sensor on the blower is a 4 wire vs a 3 wire. If I do not use this contraption they have which is that T off style rubber line somewhere on the install I end up with a connector that does nothing in the supplied harness? Thats no big deal mind you I can easily remove that wiring and seal the harness for a clean install.

Did you try and reuse the stock PCV hose? On one hand it looks like (step #86) it might work.. on the other it looks like (step #81) it needs a 90 degree quick connect fitting?

Step #110 has a decent image of the brake booster hose going to the back fitting, using hose clamp. Then EVAP solenoid is forward of that.. then the front quick connect is for the PCV.

The kit did not include an additional 3wire MAP sensor? I see your point on the harness, having the additional breakout sensor ('MAP' in intake) is to move the barometric monitoring out of the MAF sensor. I still assume LT1 does not need this.

Edelbrock has good tech support service, so reach out to them for additional clarification.

Cheers!!!

I reached out to Edelbrock. I got the car started by running a hose from the valley to the front barb on the blower. The car instantly set an SES light with MAP sensor codes.

The gentleman told me the MAP sensor on the blower is no longer used as a map sensor. That sensor is now solely used to measure the temperature of the air inside the blower. He told me Edelbrock is now using the factory 1bar MAP with their kit. The short hose that the instructions say to run from the front barb to the valley that i did not have in my kit is no longer used even though the instructions clearly state to install it. That hose has now been replaced with that T style rubber hose kit that they want you to install the factory MAP sensor into. You run that hose from the front barb to the valley even though the instruction clearly say to run it to the brake booster haha. He did admit to the instructions being off in regards to the PCV routing and having some non Camaro images. Even the latest revision of his instructions were still wrong LOL.

Thank you for your help.. I just hope this will help others in the long run if ever they run into these issues.

Looks like Edelbrock just updated the SS 2650 instructions last week, unfortunately there are still inconsistencies and errors..
