Startled an old lady today.

Leaving the gas station this morning I happened to be looking out my rear view mirror I see this old lady walking past about 10’ back as I hit the ignition. She gave this look my direction as her body jumped & her expression when to near shock as the NPP roared to life.

I felt kinda bad.

Ok, no I didn’t.

That's just what happens when you start a big V8 LOL.

There’s not a lot you can do about it…other than to constantly review your surroundings before you start the car. To be honest, I forget and stuff like that happens. There are times when I’m on narrow winding roads , stuck behind a guy(s) or girl(s) riding bikes. It just not safe to pass them, unless you get a decent look ahead. Even then, you have to goose the gas to make that pass. The sound even surprises me sometimes and I feel a little bad… for about 2 seconds.

With some of the cyclists, I don't feel bad at all.

I really like the NPP myself. If I don't want piggies bothering me, Touring mode it is, but otherwise, I enjoy the music in Sport mode.

I'm grandma age and I wouldn't hesitate to fire up regardless who's walking nearby.

Had this happen before leaving my house the other morning. Bad part is the lady who jumped about 5 feet off the blacktop is a neighbor of mine. Now she gives me the evil eye whenever I drive past her lol.

I had this happen about 6 months after I bought my 2017 in a grocery store parking lot. A guy was walking to his car and passed behind my ZL1 when I started it and he must have jumped about 2 feet in the air. He wasn’t mad and came up to the door and said nice looking car which I thanked him for the compliment and told him it was just that big V8 talking. He was cool about the situation.

Exact same thing happened to me at a gas station, except she came over to ask me what's under the hood and was all smiles, I had the feeling she'd appreciate a ride

I like hearing the roar of it, but I hate the cold bark. It's like it's programmed in to do it on purpose instead of just firing up, I'd rather it crank like it was warm, every time.

Not like I meant to do it. By the time I saw her I had pushed the freak button.

Some are startled easy into passive responses. My grandma would punch you in the throat if you startled her. Don’t ask me how I know.

When you go to shut down set to stealth mode. I’ve heard it stops the NPP from starting open.

But seriously compared to my last Mustang this thing is quiet as a mouse. You’d feel it shake the whole house. The wife would even feel it in her blouse.

I have stock NPP and my neighbor across the street says it sounds scary when I start it up LOL.

Wait until I get Borla or something.

There is a super loud Mustang GT in my sub division. So no one should be complaining when I get my exhaust but I'm sure someone will just because it's a Camaro.

There's an older woman that lives in the complex where I am. Her son is probably about ten years younger than myself and he used to have a Mustang with a pretty loud aftermarket exhaust on it. Every time she walks by and I happen to be outside with the car, she gets this huge smile and tells me how much she loves the car.

Age is a number, and you never know who's going to love or hate the car.
