I did it for around $250 but didn't get the heat shields.

The Difusser is available from multiple sites for around $125. Shipping is about the same because size of box. Try GM parts direct

Thank you

I'm wondering if any of these parts can be eliminated from the list with the NPP exhaust.

I haven't located a Parts breakdown for an SS/1LE with the NPP option to match up part numbers.

Anyone else looked into it yet?
I don't recommend this, but I think it could be with no more than the diffuser and the clips that hold the ends to the bumper cover. I don't think leaving the heat shields off would cause you any grief as long as your exhaust tips never touch the diffuser. Leaving the mudflaps off will leave the front end of the ground effects, immediately behind the rear wheels, open, so you will have to fabricate some sort of cover for that or it will fill up with road debris. The brackets on each side support the mudflaps, but they also support the bottom of the ground effects, but if you cut those slots in the bumper cover and use those clips, the ground effects are not going anywhere with out tearing the bumper cover off. The bottom of the ZL1 diffuser hangs down about an inch below the stock one and thats what those other brackets are for, but something could be fabricated for that. Again, I don't recommend this and if you account for the time you're going to spend fabricating stuff that you can buy, you're not going to save much. But on the other hand, if you have more time than money, it could be done.

Any place that sells GM parts. And these days that's about anywhere. Any GM dealer can get them. There's literally 100's of GM parts websites and then there's e-bay and Amazon.

I've been wanting to do the ZL1 rockers and rear diffuser since I bought my 1LE. Just completes the look of the car.
