Pay for it/ approved etc, can you stay a day over if the rain is over? Or simply take a trailer and bring it back. Myself I would purchase and tell them to locked up the keys fobs(picture of mileage), and no one is to drive it, then pick up later. Just because your safe on a wet road doesn't mean the other person will be.

I've driven on the SC3Rs in some pretty bad downpours. Hydroplaned one time and scared the shit outta me. It's sketchy, but if I chill in the right lane, 50-55 mph, smooth acceleration and smooth braking, it's doable. You need to be SUPER attentive, no distractions if you do it.

We can't determine your risk tolerance, but I would do it personally. I also like the idea of having new tires shipped to the dealer. You're gonna swap out the SC3Rs for PS4Ss anyway. Might be able to get the dealer to mount & balance for free. 3 tires will fit in the back seat and one in the trunk. Put down one of those harbor freight moving blankets over the back seat.

I was caught in a pretty bad downpour in my SS. Got stuck behind an 18 wheeler. Between the back spray & the rutted highway there was no way I’d pass. I had back down to like 50 on a 70mph highway.

A light rain is one thing. An all out torrential rain, where you have an inch of or more of standing water, is a TOTALLY different scenario.

If I encounter that in my ZL1 I’m finding the closest off ramp & waiting for it to pass if at all possible.

I will say the PS4’s are very good in wet.

I don’t want to have to shipped due to my prior experiences of dealing with them

I’m pretty much set on driving back with the 3Rs, as the ps4s are out of stock until 9/10

i would not have thought to do that, really appreciate the input, definitely going to do that.

Don't know if you have a truck but you can rent a uhaul trailer, get some 2x4s so that both front tires can sit on so the front of the car clears the front of the trailer and to use them to load the car onto the trailer.

I've used a uhaul trailer before with my ZL1, as have others, doing that with no issues. A 1LE shouldn't be an issue either. I would suggest to remove the front plates on the trailer to help with the front of the car clearing as well. Just a couple of bolts to remove, nothing crazy.

I'm not sure if PTM wet mode is any better than snow/ice mode. I know snow/ice mode makes the throttle input slightly delayed and with the A10, shifts are more smooth.

And as an FYI, the ZL1 will fit 1 tire in the trunk and then 1 in each passenger seat. I did that when I got my new tires years ago. That is with the non 1LE sizes. I don't think I could get the 305 to fit in the tiny trunk opening so the 1LE tires might not be able to fit in the car. If they do, it'll be tight.

The other car I have is a 18 brz TS supercharged with 400 whp to the wheels, could it be done? probably... but too much hassle so im just going to try my luck and take it easy If I do come across rain

Also, I see that you have a m6 zle and wanting to trade for the a10, what makes you wanna do that? I test drove both before deciding on the A10 ZLE but I'm afraid that A10 initial excitement is gonna wear off and eventually I would want a m6 perhaps..

I found a 2021 ZLE A10 thats selling for MSRP (dealers near me wanted 10-20k over MSRP), but the problem is that its 550 miles away from me. On my day of pickup there appears to be a bit of rain. will it be a problem if I take it easy on wet highways?

I have driven an e92 m3 in snowing conditions on PSS tires with traction control off (it wouldnt go anywhere with it on) with no issues except going side ways all the time. Would driving on the F1 3Rs be a pretty similar experience to that?

Thanks in advance
It wont be a problem if you take it easy - but make sure you take it easy!
