Camaro 10th Anniversary Revival.
Hello Camaro Comrades, I just wanted to make this thread for the Camaro's 10th year anniversary, since it has been 10 years since the car was reintroduced. The 5th gen Camaro first started production on March 16, 2009 and I wanted to thank GM for bringing back an iconic car that many us were wanting after 7-years of hiatus. Despite the slump in sales of the Camaro's currently, we will never forget the huge success it made during its first 5 year runs since 2009, outselling both the Mustang and Challenger.

What a coincidence I just saw a documentary about the 3 big muscle car marker.
thank you all 3. I loved them in the early ‘70 - ‘80 and I love them today.

Nice thought! Yuppers, 5th Gen was a home run and the only time that stretch beat Mustang year after year!
I was a proud 5th Gen owner, 2013 vert And took a while to come around to 6th Gen, my 2018 V6 RS I'm really glad Chevy is fixing refresh SS front ends, adopting the Sema style. Once they appear on dealer lots, sales will pick up. Thank Heavens! We all don't want another hiatus. |

Really glad GM brought the Camaro back when they did. In late 2005 when I was shopping, there was no Camaro and I didn't like the Mustang so I got an Infiniti coupe that I drove for eleven years. But in 2016 I got this baby and it is wonderful. Most enjoyable car I've ever had.

OP - nice idea to remember these last ten great years for the re-born Camaro. I proudly owned a 2010 and am just as proud of my current 2016!

Thanks - That would have been about this time of year in 2013. My cars all go in the garage every night and are kept clean (at least the ones I like - ha!).

It's amazing to think it's been 10 years. There is such a great community built around the Camaro and I feel like its just as strong, or stronger, than it was way back in the 1st/2nd generation days. The hiatus was in all likelihood the best possible thing that ever could have happened to the Camaro. It allowed the car to be reinvented in a new way. It was polarizing but no one can deny, the 5th and then 6th generation cars re-ignited the Camaro community in a huge way. Regrading the current slump in sales you brought up--some view the refreshed '19 to '21 (?) cars as an outgoing "lame duck" but, that isn't my experience at all. My 2019 2.0 2LT is such an awesome car.
And I think even more exciting things are coming. GM has a huge opportunity with the 7th generation to bring Camaro into the future and I'm super excited to see what unfolds. |

Thank you team Camao.
I’ve owned three and loved them all. Like kids. They each had/have their own personalities. 13 ZL1 M6, 16 2SS A8, 18 2SS HW M6

My husband, son, and I are total gear heads. Collectively my husband and I have owned close to 80 vehicles in our lifetime, with several Corvette's, Mustangs, Trans Ams, etc. Our favorites always seem to be the Camaros (and Trans Ams, to be fair - F-Bodies).
We have owned the following: 1995 Trans Am Convertible 2001 Trans Am WS6 1983 Trans Am (we restored this car to original and sold it to a guy in England!) 1991 Camaro RS 305 V8 2010 Camaro SS 2LT 6 Speed 2013 Camaro 1LS 6 Speed 2017 Camaro 1LT Convertible And, soon to be a 2018 SS 1LE, as soon as we find the right one in the leftover new stock pile.. Some pics are below:
