This is some serious BS, it's been 4 years and 2020's are also problematic... although this doesn't impact me (I have a coupe at the moment and will never buy a convertible with a soft top no matter what), it reflects very poorly on GM's quality control feedback loop in general.

I couldn’t agree more. Between this glue / design issue, wind noise, creaking sounds (with top up) and broken flapper panels it seems GM and their supplier partners did a piss poor job initially. It seems there’s really no intention of long term“fixes” for these issues.

Excuse me for a minute while I pull out the lube and Velcro to fix the inherent creaking ,or install flocking tape at articulation points. I’ll dutifully make sure my windows always up, in the rare occasion that I may be driving with top up. Oh, yea... one other thing, the windows clip the top unless you purposefully open the door slow enough to let the windows index fully, to clear the top. Yea, shitty design all around, but I still love the car.

With just over 11K miles logged between 2 different 6th Gen’s, it makes me wonder why my brothers 2015 Stang convertible can be so quite and reliable at 55k miles (when out of the gate the 6th Gen sounds kinda crummy, with the top up)

I go the car back. The top seems to work like normal. And the window is not delaminating.

The really cool thing was the master mech sent me an text with a video showing the completion and explaining what they did including a water test to make sure the top was leak free and the multipoint inspection.

I will keep tabs on it and report back.

The thread is 3 years old. Im looking at a 2020 2ss vert and wondering if any of you still love the convertible after another 3 years?

If this works I save $1400 (the supplies cost me about $100).

I will let you guys know how it goes once it is done.
How did the repair go?
Is it holding up??

Still love mine. I don't see the love affair ending any time soon. LOL
