It never ceases to amaze me just how many people like this exist around us.

..also "I downshifted from 5th to 2nd and blew my motor, GM is not going to give me a new engine, **** them!"

This is 100% user error, NOT a mechanical failure due to manufacturer error.

..getting off internet for today. I've had enough.

I didn't watch the video, but I can only assume this is what he did with a money shift causing him to crash? He did say "I nuked the entry and wheelhopped the car" which has to mean money shift. Unless he was driving on a motocross track and hit some braking bumps that is

He just went into T1 too hot, slid out and brushed the wall which "brushed" might even be too strong a word, you couldn't even hear the hit.

Also: a simple answer "NO" would have been more than enough to end this thread, all the mocking and ridicule some guys are throwing around isn't really necessary...

After watching the video, that was a butt clencher for sure.
Good job not panicking and locking it up into the wall.

Warranty coverage for body damage....I say no.
Warranty coverage for tire....no, it's a wear item.

Like posted, they will cover their mistakes, not yours.

I couldn't agree more with this statement. Just makes people look bad, half of these responses are excessive. If someone genuinely doesn't know what the track warranty does and does not cover this would be the place to ask. It was a simple question, and deserved a simple answer.

Track warranty is just an extension of your bumper to bumper warranty to the track. Body damage is covered by your insurance. You can contact your insurance company to see if they'll cover it. If the event wasn't timed you might get lucky. Or you could end up with you insurance company dropping you. Either way, it's best to get track insurance for track days.

WARRANTY covers component failures, manufacturing defects, etc.

INSURANCE covers damage. It's a waste of time and everyone's money to even engage Chevrolet with such a daft question.

Actually, it looks more like someone scraped you pulling out of a parking spot. *wink wink*

I would go slow on reporting to your insurance company. There are a fair amount of them that will drop you for taking your car to a race track.

If you had bought track day insurance, this would likely be of little help, as well. The amount of damage would likely be below the typical 10% of declared value threshold ($50K declared value - $5K deductible). Nothing will cover tires.

I'll offer an observation, garnered through ~50+ years of driving everything from farm equipment, to too many sports cars to mention, to driving RTO 9513 18 wheelers: Drive within yourself. Your limits are lower than you think they are.

Cool footage. This is a great forum with a lot of smart folks and a few smart asses - all well meaning. I thought you meant you had track day insurance? Which could theoretically cover you? but like all insurance, you want to use it on the bigger claims cuz they’re gonna drop you after that.
