Question Revving at high speeds

I'm sure this has been brought up before but can't find it on search. I have a brand new 2SS 2021 camaro and at speeds between 60 and 70 mph I see and feel the engine rpms go up and down 100 rpms. It gives driving at these speeds a jerky feeling. If I speed up or slow down the problem goes away.

Has anyone had a similar issue or experience?

Thanks in advance.

Mags.

I know people with the A8 auto had that problem. But if you have a 2021 then you don't have the 8 speed auto trans. I would take it to the dealer.

I had this experience with my 2010 A6 during break in. It was gone after maybe 1,000 miles.

I would give it some time before allowing the dealer to mess with your car.

Op Don't state what trans he has. I never drive a steady 60 or more mph on my new 2021 LT1 with a A10 to even know if mine will do it. I am 100% 45mph and under with my driving.

Is it a A10 car? probably the AFM (v4) mode going in a out and or the converter lock up feature. Have AFM tuned out or start out in manual 1 from a dead start and AFM does not activate as long as you stay in manual mode. If you go from auto mode to manual mode from any speed, once you are in manual mode , downshift 1 gear by the paddle or the shifter and up shift again AFM stays off and you can cruise highway, or secondary roads with no AFM until you shut down and restart or switch back to auto mode while driving.

Why? you never go on the highway or drive secondary roads faster than 45mph?

My work is 4 miles away and the food store is 4 miles away and that is all i ever drive to. My Vette club will start the cruises again at the end of this month so i will get to run it out at speeds at over 120mph on the back roads every month with all the other Vettes.

They stopped doing the cruises since the CV19 crap as there was no where for us to eat. I love our breakfast cruises with 30 to 50 Vettes and really missed them.
I live in a area clogged with traffic and red lights every 200 feet on US19 as that is about the worst road in the country when it comes to wrecks. Once in a while i jump up to 85mph very fast but gotta watch out for cops. It gets to 85 in a flash and you just want to keep going. So i will get my go fast fix soon.

I hear ya CHASLT1, most of Florida is very congested and traffic lights everywhere and I didnt think of that. Get out on the highway more LOL where you can play with the 10 speed. I have been on a mission to put miles on my LT1 I brought home 11/19. I live in Connecticut so its hard to get out and drive as often as I would like during the winter. But I have 1250 miles on it as of today and am learning alot about the 10 speed, the auto mode, the manual mode and how to stay out of AFM. Am also working on the best way to run the car thru the 1/4.

I see very little V4 mode with my driving. I have a Range Device from my 2019 C7 but they say don't use it on the Camaro.

Probably just the AFM. I can notice a very faint "transition" as it kicks over from V8 to 4 cylinders. Makes sense the RPM would vary as less cylinders are doing more work. Sounds normal to me, keep an eye out on the display page where it will show what mode its in.

If I leave my car in auto mode, I hear and feel V4 mode quite a bit in town and in traffic . There are guys here on the forum that have 2019, 2020 and 2021 A10 cars and say the Range device works for them. They may have the latest one available. If I had your range device from your 2019 C7, I would plug it in and try it, it cannot hurt anything. I would also be on the mileage info screen to see your V8 indicator and watch for the V4 to come on as sometimes it goes in and out unnoticed. Starting off in M1 and leaving it in manual mode will net no AFM, going from auto mode to manual mode while underway you have to downshift once with the paddle or the shifter , then up shift as needed and again no AFM while staying in manual mode.
