Why only a $700 deduction if we reuse our front calipers? Two front Z/28 calipers are worth $2,000+.

Why are the Z/28 pads a $883.00 upcharge? The full cost of the pads would be about $925... assuming racingbrake pays that or less, that would only place a value on the RB XT910 pads of $42.

A full CCM kit on the website reusing my front calipers, OE Z/28 pads, and no brake fluid; the total comes to $10,652.00.

The actual retail (not suggested retail) on the GM components are about $7,736.62 (see breakdown below). Of course this doesn't include the pair of front hats or the 4 brake lines, but am I missing something else?

(I'm just trying to understand/justify the cost on my end. Since the car is only 65K, it makes it harder to spend 10K+ on brakes.)

2015 Z/28 part prices from thatgmpartsguy
----------------------------------------
Front Rotors (22958646) x2 $2736.86
Front Brake Pads (22990624) $465.12
Rear Rotors (22958647) x2 $2736.86
Rear Brake Pads (22990625) $460.56
Rear Caliper Left (22958637) $668.61
Rear Caliper Right (22958634) $668.61

To help with the cost, are there any options available for reusing rear calipers as well (smaller rear rotor)?

Thanks!
We purchased Z28 brakes (calipers, rotors and pads) in bulk on GM surplus, so the break down cost for front caliper is about $400 so a deduct off the package @$350/ea was determined, but never be $1,000 - Even from GM dealers it would cost @550-$650/ea.

However we have now increased the deduct to $1,000 for the front pair.

XT910 street pads was included only at a nominal cost, but since you may prefer OE pads so the adder for OE pads by is lowered by $300

The RB CCB kit also includes the front "forged aluminum alloy" hats and hardware specially made for G6 spindle, re-arrange the rear OE calipers and hydro test them, brake line kit. So what you would receive is a "turn-key" package for a 100% bolt on installation.

For further saving:
  • 2.5% cash discount if pay by T/T or cashier check.
  • Free shipping for the first 3 orders.
  • Sponsorship discounts available (PM for detail)
Above can add up to a total saving of more than 10% off the already lowest CCM brake kits in the market.

Stock rear calipers are made for smaller rotors and can't be re-used for CCM rotors.

Everything is in stock - Ready to build and ship.

If you are looking for an ultimate brake system, look no further, this is your dreaming kit and I am sure you know better than me once your ZL1 is equipped with this CCM brake kit, you probably don't care nor have to wait for a new G6 Z28.
http://www.racingbrake.com/Camaro-Z-...rccb-gm-02.htm

With our current inventory we are offering a very special deal so you can expect to get this kit at @9K, and if you keep the front ZL1 OE calipers you can save $1K, and if you only need street driving our XT910 is the excellent street compounds, well proven in GTR community, you don't need to pay $650 for OE pads, so you can have this kit for $8k.

RacingBrake is the pioneer and leader in building affordable CCM brakes for any budget, from just the front axle rotor kit, to the complete system.

I agree to some extent. I certainly would have been interested, especially if they could keep the option price low like they do on the Corvette.

On the other side, I see why GM didn't bother. Let's face it. In general Camaro guys are working with smaller budgets than Corvette guys. Even on a Corvette Z06, very few people spring for the Z07 package.

If you consider the 5th Gen Z/28. It was a bargain at 75K, but it didn't sell well at all. This price tag is out of reach for the average Camaro enthusiast, and a major driver behind the cost was the CCM brakes. My local dealership had the same Z/28 in the showroom for almost 2 years. The last I saw it before it sold, it was marked down about 20K. The simple fact is, people with that kinda money to spend on brakes usually have higher-end cars.

I'm intered in the Front CCB/Rear Iron setup for my brand new ZL1 1LE.

The brakes are the same between the ZL1 and ZL1 1LE but the wheels are different (20" vs 19"). Will they still fit?

I know the Z/28 had 19s so that is a good sign.

G5 ZL1 has a lighter 6 pot calipers (same as CTSV) with 370mm rotors while ZL1 1LE is a full blown heavy duty 6 pot calipers (same as Z28), so neither pad nor rotors are interchangeable.

Also the front spindles are different between G5 and G6 (rear is the same), so a Z28 CCM front rotor will not bolt on to G6 spindle.

We have just repriced our CCM front and rear iron combo to make them even more affordable.

Another option is to purchase front RB CCM kit (rotors are built with same disc as Z28 but hat is made to fit G6 spindle), and rear RB iron kit, we offer a special $1000 deduct towards the purchase of rear iron kit.

To be clear, the CCM/iron combo:
http://www.racingbrake.com/RB-394mm-.../gm-cir-01.htm

Will fit the wheels and tires of a 2018 ZL1 1LE (not just a ZL1) correct?

Yes this CCM/Iron combo rotor kit will fit all Camaro G6 with 6 piston front and 4 piston rear OE calipers.

No. As stated earlier, G6 SS front caliper is same as G5 ZL1 & CTS-V G2 which although is also 6 pot, but is a lighter duty caliper using smaller pads.

While G6 ZL1 & ZL1/1LE have the same calipers as Corvette ZR1 & G5 Z28 (for CCM rotor duty)
