I saw Get Smart
It was very funny probably one of the ONLY movies I have seen based on a show that 'worked'. Addams Family and The Fugitive being the only others. It was WELL cast, and had a good story. LOTS of nods to the old tv show. I found out from the movie that if you do not hurry up and get through the different doors leading to CONTROL they close in your face. In the movie Max is carrying some papers and drops some of them. he stops to pick them up and the door in front of him closes in his face and the music stops. he punches in a code and the door opens again and the music starts back up . and ALL of the cars' the 'TV' Max drove are in the movie from the classic red Sunbeam Tiger, to the blue Karman Ghia, to the Opel GT driven by the 'TV' Sigfried in a cameo.
Maxwell Smart: There are 300 hundred Control Agents outside this building. Siegfried: No there's not. Maxwell Smart: Would you believe 20 SWAT members? Siegfried: No. Maxwell Smart: How about Chuck Norris with a BB gun. My favorite bit in the whole movie

Saw it the day it came out. I laughed really hard. I'm a fan of the original show and I was worried they might do it a disservice, but it was pretty true to the old show. And yes, the Chuck Norris line was hilarious.
As an aside, shameless plug here: go see WALL-E. Its great. |

I have yet to see get smart, but I'm going to see it very soon.
Wall-E disappointed me. I was expecting a lot more. There were a few chuckles here and there but meh... |
