Blower spacer plates, what think ye?

In an all out effort to keep my MAT down in a very hot environment, I’m considering a spacer plate. Has anybody used these? Does anybody have any first (or even second) hand knowledge of it’s effectiveness? Is its results worth the 600 dollar asking price. Thanks for any and all input.

Between what? The blower and heads? IMO, the blower makes enough of it's own heat not to be troubled by what comes from the heads. If we're gettin jiggy with the engineering, a cold water jacket for the blower might be more beneficial. But if you're in for a geometry & milling challenge that probably won't affect MAT much, knock yourself out.

If you're not on a road course, you will likely be better off with an interchiller, meth and/or a trunk mounted ice tank. Look to what our Texas brethren are doing for their 1/2+ mile cars...

Blower spacers and a heat blanket under the blower was very effective on my Hellcat, dropped IAT temps by 12 degrees. IAT is the Hellcat equivalent of the ZL1 MAT temps.

As of today, mine has a thermal blanket and blower/head spacers. Most likely, neither will fit my pending 2650 build but I'm not 100% certain.

FI Interchillers sell em. They look nice. But is it worth it? They have a blanket also for a 100. I was wondering whether their blanket would be better than our OEM foam by some margin. The Interchiller is certainly in the cards. But I was thinking about putting in the spacers as well. 12 degrees is significant imo. Add the chiller and it makes it just that much easier for the system to keep temps reasonable. Along with the ceramic coated headers. I should be able to keep this engine bay cooler. The sun is so hot here that with the A/C on medium just last week, my head can feel the heat blazing in through the top of the car. I can’t even imagine the engine bay. Just must be blazing inside there. Coupled with the inferior fuel, an immeasurable amount of timing is probably surrendered.

Thank you for your input. Anybody else with experience?…

I wouldn't install them as my only cooling mod but they're a great supporting mod to the FI Interchiller. I had all of it.

I can't make any real comparisons to how the car heated up and cooled down before and after installing my FII stuff. Heat is not an issue so far, we added substantial advance on my 3rd hit last Tuesday and it ran better. It's a short burst, straight-ahead car.

Blower spacer plates do work. I have the FI spacer plates and heat blanket on the bottom of the supercharger on my C6 Grand Sport that has an E-force on it.

Before the plates, I was seeing up to 150F IAT’s after a run. With the plates, no more than 120F. Normal driving, temps were about 50F above ambient before the plates; with plates about 30F above ambient.

Now I added these after I did other mods such as bigger heat exchanger, larger reservoir, DeWitts radiator.

Well, that settles it in my mind. FI Interchiller with the spacers and blanket. Just toss it all in. That should help keep things as cool as possible here where it’s damn near 95 degrees 70 percent humidity year round. Now to talk to the man….

Do these blowers get hot while out driving around normally, or is this just for track guys, or back to back 1/4mi runs??

They get hot. Typically 40F above ambient just driving around.
