WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM JUST ADDING A 2650 TO MY BUILD.

Hey guys,

I am running JRE's 125 Flex Fuel package. Of course, it's not enough, so-
I am not ready to put a cam in it, but I do want to try a Maggie 2650 on for size. If I installed the bigger blower, what could I safely get out of it with my current setup (or with some minor adds)?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

All depends on what your making now, boost etc. your not going to be able to run much E if any at all with the 2650.

660-680 is typical on pump @ 15-16psi. You’ll be out of fuel though on E and at the very end on 93.

If your making 650 now running e50/60 I wouldn’t bother until you put a cam in.

IMO - it depends on how much power you think you'll aim for in the future and what restrictions, if any, you have to abide.

You will need a fuel system upgrade in order to keep running E.

Just to be clear, you can't just "add a 2650", additional parts will be necessary

I added just an eddie 2650 and netted 670WHP with a tune on a 3" pulley up here @6000+ft elevation

No restrictions in my neck of the woods. But, you bring up a very good point about "future aims". I would like to have a little more - right now. If I could get to 700ish whp, I would be happy for a while. A cam is in the future, maybe a year down the road. But, a lot can happen in a year! It would be great to do both right now, but that is not feasible. If my understanding of the hp road map is correct, a cam by itself will not do it (I don't want to put any money into the stock blower). I can do the Maggie now, and who knows, it might be plenty? I'm getting 571 SAE Mustang whp on e60 at 10# at 500' (Ted reviewed the logs and he is pleased). My question is, will the Maggie give me the substantial gains I'm looking for, or does Camaro1973 have it right, not to bother with it until I can do both.

Can I reach my goals on 92 and maybe a little e with the Maggie? What kind of fuel upgrades are you thinking?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but at least one person on this forum has "just added a 2650" and is happy (he is included in this post). Others have a similar mod list as I - with the 2650. But of course, e probably can't be run in any quantity, if any at all.

So, at pretty much sea level, I should be able to get close to 700. I assume that is on a Dynojet? I will roll mine on a Dynojet a week from today. Awesome numbers on an otherwise stock car!

Nice - this is probably the route I'll take. 15 psi? 93 pump gas?

Don't trust ethanol and would always have concerns about long term corrosion

The web research I’ve done indicates that corrosion is a concern on full e85 but running a “blend” at less than full e85 pretty much eliminates the corrosive effect.

If you plan to add a cam in the future then I would go for the 2650, as here is where it will shine. Your probably making around 640rwhp now as this is what teds package typically makes. You’ll make more with just the 2650, but you’ll be increasing boost by 5-6psi to get there. At that point you won’t have any fuel left to run any E. I was happy when I installed my Maggie with headers, intake etc. made roughly 660/660 on 93.probably could of pushed it a bit more but in cooler weather you’ll make more boost which could become an issue with knock on 93. I was hitting almost 17psi when cool.

Add a cam/heads your at 800 @15psi (my setup) add 100 octane and a few more degrees of timing your at 850.

Also remember if you add a cam down the road you’ll be doing install all over again and paying for extra labor twice.

If money isn’t a concern, get the 2650 and get a cam down the road.
