Exactly, it's pretty simple. Removing the remaining glue takes some elbow grease.

Dental floss if your not into fishing

Double it up, leave car in the sun an hour, works great.

I use the emblem as the trunk handle when shutting it. I wonder if it will eventually come off from doing that

No kidding! After having a surprisingly easy time removing the two side chiclets, I figured the rear emblem would be similarly easy. It was a little more challenging to get the bow tie off, but little did I know the fun was just starting... no peeling that big glob off in one or two pieces like the side-emblem backing came off. My first time doing de-badging, by the way, after having watched a detail shop do the same de-badging on my 2016.

Goo Gone (automotive) worked wonders on my car with these nasty adhesives

+1 I do the exact same thing! It's my daily driver and open the trunk usually twice a day. So far no issues after 3 years.

3M Adhesive Remover or SEM Solve work great for adhesive removal.

That’s exactly what I did. Wasn’t that big a deal.

Use a heat gun to get the emblem off easier. But also get all the old adhesive off before you install the new emblem!

Goof-Off spray works best, use a generous amount. HomeDepot has it.
