2018 software updates...
so i have a 2018 2ss 1le
wondering how i find out if there have been any software updates for infotanment etc since i bought car... specifically way to make pdr like a dash cam (c8 does this) and there were some other things (cant remember right now) but you know like check what version i have and see if there is a newer version and what the changes were?

If you’re looking for features then I got some bad news. I’m pretty sure they haven’t done any feature upgrades, only some basic updates I believe. Don’t think I’ve seen any feature get passed down to earlier years

Not gonna happen, unfortunately. Most likely there are literally zero programmers at GM still touching the 2016-18 platform.

i have an 18 zl1, just picked up my car for a weird backup camera flicker as well as other issues (parking brake locking up etc.) funny enough the stereo had a TSB and update for the issue. But according to my family, my Bluetooth audio sounds much better to the point they thought i was wearing my Bluetooth headphones. You wont get new features, but this was a common complaint alot of people had ( call quality ).

hey arpad thanks again for the time the other day...
i will solve my issues but back on topic... i would love a way to make pdr act as a dash cam...... should be always on with like a couple of gig storage in a loop

Hey biker2k,
You can make an app which uses a camera as base and collects data through an OBD dongle. Perhaps the OBD data is already avaiable in Chevy's MyLink. The only question is how to trigger the camera... Perhaps there is a possibility to trigger the data recording and the camera by our mobile phone (which means one app for the mobile phone and one app for Chevy's MyLink. You could save the data to a USB drive. I don't know much about programming. But I think, the MyLink is somehow Android based. Therefore, it should be possible to make programms for Android professionals... |
