No new 1le differentials

According to all the GM parts suppliers on the internet this differential has been discontinued/unavailable. I have had a standing order in and it cannot be filled. Today I had the payment that was on hold removed. Back to the idea of changing the gears myself. Dealership labor quote was 1,300 with me supplying major parts. No thanks to that price!

I just had mine done at the dealer and the results are well worth the money imo. Warranty intact. I'm happy. Bonus = door sticker!!!

Glad you're happy with the gear change. I wanted to have the dealer do mine but their price was so high GM was selling the 1le diff complete as cheap as the dealer install labor price ($1300) with me giving them the ring and pinion set. If they supplied everything they were talking close to 1,800. It's pretty easy to swap the diff. It seems you can't buy it complete anymore. I also found out it doesn't void the warranty if the dealer does it but they only warranty the part and install for a year not the full power train warranty.

The # that I tried to purchase was# 22806794 1le-3.91differential. Some still list this number but when they research it's not available/discontinued. I'm not happy.

Gear kits are still readily available. I grabbed one. Tried everywhere to get the complete diff new but can't. I've seen some used ones but I think I'll just swap the gears.

I noticed that around the beginning of the year. Ended up picking up a used 1le diff on here. Now i just need to stock up on a couple 3.91 gear kits because i am worried those will be discontinued too.

I am afraid the aftermarket options for the gen5 is going to start going down hill all around.

That's what I found out. After 5 weeks on "back order" I started looking and found out they're no longer available. I had to get my payment hold removed from PayPal. The place where I ordered from finally apologized and said it was discontinued. Bummer!
