Whistle/whine from console area in 2nd gear
2018 Camaro 2SS 1LE
When in 2nd gear, I get a whistle or whine that comes from the center console area. The pitch goes up if I accelerate, and goes down if decelerating. If I hold the speed steady, the noise I think mostly goes away. Only occurs in 2nd gear that I can hear. Here's a couple audio clips: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5hfLZPB8AO8 https://www.youtube.com/shorts/_cJARhmE16E Whats weird, and perhaps I have a misunderstanding of skip-shift, is when the car allegedly skips to 4th gear from 1st, I still get the noise once it shifts. But the car shows its in 2nd when skip-shift is activated, so I'm not sure if the prior owner deleted skip-shift and you just still get the notification on the dash but it doesn't actually activate? I'm thinking it's not actually activating because the RPMs don't seem to indicate it went into 4th. This thing is gonna go in regardless since its still under the original powertrain warranty and I have the Maxcare extended warranty, and its also doing that clicking noise on both sides described here: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=12. But just curious if anyone has had this issue before, so I can expedite the diagnosis. Last edited by MajesticBeast; 08-19-2022 at 10:20 AM. |
