Thanks for all the good Information all you guys provided.
I ready for a Chevy. I love SRT don’t get me wrong but the wave kinda hit the beach for me.
The Camaro ZL1 is all I need. I travel from New Orleans to Destin Florida often and it’s on the Freeway. Great driving for this ZL1. Corvette is just not for me. Great cars just not me. I don’t see many ZL1 driving around much, hardly at all to be honest. So really looking forward to this next chapter. I would like to find a low mile 17-18 due to price point.
But if the opportunity comes for a deal on a 19 I will take it.
If you're driving around pothole ridden New Orleans/South LA roads and doing some long road trips consistently I'd stick with the regular ZL1. The magnetic dampers do a good job at soaking up rougher areas on the street vs the DSSV that's on the ZL1 1LE. Can always swap the spoiler and add canards and splitter on the front bumper if you want the additional aero for track days - I've noticed it does make it difficult to see out the back if you don't have the 2020-21 rear camera and it does kill 1-2mpg on the highway though. Although not usually a concern for most people buying 650+ HP cars...

That big wing is just a wind drag when you're blowing pesky M3s off the road

Active aero is slick, too bad it's limited to higher end cars

Now it’s time to try a ZL1.
I actually raced a ZL1 from a 40 mph roll in the Demon about 6 months ago.
I honestly thought it would be a track meet but the ZL1 stayed on my hip until about 110 mph then the 840hp just started to pull away.
I was shocked to be honest they were that fast.
I am not looking to race the ZL1 or add any mods. Just want to drive it.
Now it’s just finding one at the right price and color.
Pretty impressive what they do on a road coarse.
Glad to be here
Greg I am like you. I don’t want to buy new.
I would not mine a 2017.
I see the tail light difference
Ive never driven the Demon but did have a A8 Hellcat (was a lease) and decided to try a ZL1 for something different.
Very differnet experience between the two. Other than being a huge land barge, the hellcat is easier to daily imo. Roomier and more comfortable interior. The zl1 feels smaller inside with less visbility and the seats barely recline but pretty comfortable otherwise. Zl1 handling is night and day better and the acceleration is more accessible due to being able to put the power down much better on the factory tires. I might give a slight edge to the hellcat 130+ acceleration but dont know for sure.

17-19 are essentially the same other than the tailights, as already said. I actually prefer the 19+ tailights but most seem to not.
Ive heard oil pump failure have been an issue for the 17-18 but not reported on the 19's. I say this as my 2019 is currently in the shop for a fuel pump replacment with 1500 miles

Having owned both I disagree the ZL1 "feels slow" compared to a stock hellcat. The extra thrills in the hellcat mainly came from losing traction from a roll imo.

Both are quick enough to have fun with stock but far from mind blowing.

I appreciate all the really good information.
2020 Dodge Hellcat has power dollars which is almost 10k off MSRP.
I don’t see anything for Chevy?
What are dealers offering off MSRP?

I would say if you can get $10,000 off a Hellcat then go for it!

I own both currently, not one before the other or after. You're entitled to your opinion. Mine is that the Hellcat feels quicker.

I had my hellcat the last 3 years and my ZL1 the last 3 months. My brother has a stock charger hellcat which we carpool both with..so still quite fresh with my opinion..
They each have a very different way/feel how they power deliver for sure. Slow in never what comes to mind for me in the ZL1 unless maybe heat soaked on a 95 degree humid day.
In the end its all subjective really.

I own a Hellcat Challenger and driven the ZL1 a few times. I think they both felt similar in power. Few YouTube videos have shown there both pretty equal and hang with each other. Both cars don’t seem mind blowing fast yea but I think because the power delivery is pretty smooth and you don’t feel the speed as much but the speedometer will show it for sure. Both the ZL1 and Hellcat will give you a better impression if there both put in track mode.

If you want to feel the power in a car a C6 corvette platform would be good as they are pretty light. A heads cam c6 z06 will feel pretty fast. The two advantages the ZL1 has over my Cat that I like are that you can easily stick 305 size tires on the rear ( since it comes like that from factory ) while the HellCat you have to invest in bigger aftermarket wheels to fit that tire size appropriately. The ZL1 has extra lights on the front (DRL’s) so I’m assuming you will get better light output and see better at night while the hellcat doesn’t have fog lights or anything. You can still see fine at night with the hellcat lights I just like the extra lights on the ZL1 for certain reasons. By the way have you ever done a race between your brothers Charger Hellcat and your ZL1 to see how they stack up?

We've done a bunch of rolls from various speeds to about 120-130ish.
Anything under 60 I walk away because he cant put the power down(moderately worn factory 275's) losing too much ground from the start. 60+ rolls where traction isn't an issue is a drivers race and very close. He may have the a slight edge after 130 put we haven't tested that.
We may never know, as he is about to run a pulley, tune, drag radials and I'm staying stock.

I am searching Auto Trader and EBay.
Do they have another for sale venue for ZL1 for sale?
