Exclamation 627hp...supercharged mustang gt 5.0

Well ... let's see if chevy enters game ? On the cable show Detroit Muscle they build a 2015 mustang GT... Admittedly this is with ford racing parts ... but 10.97 1/4s and still handle decent... hopefully camaro has a supercharged camaro in the line up.. looks like the lt4 is needed to stay in the game...let's hope they bring enough horsepower to the revel!... or soon to be 2nd again.

Wouldn't bet on it. Chevy doesn't lead. Except maybe with the Vette.

So you are expecting GM to counter a car built with aftermarket parts? Ford Racing or not, it is not a factory car. Therefore, it is of no concern to GM. I'm sure the LT1 accepts supercharging just fine. Much like the LS3 did before.

I never understood comparing aftermarket cars to factory ones. Like people comparing the new Roush Mustangs to Hellcats. one is aftermarket and one isn't...stop comparing them.

You can still get a warranty with a Roush or Saleen right? I agree tuner cars are a different story and shouldn't be compared to factory models like the Hellcat, ZL1, or GT500.

Check out Camaro5 for aftermarket Camaros. There are definitely people that have taken the car to this level and beyond.

But if Ford Racing can slap a supercharger on the GT and make 627 hp where does that put the next GT500 at? And from what I've seen 627 hp is low for a new supercharged 5.0. Roush has a 670 hp and even a 777 hp Supercharger kit for the new mustangs. All with a warranty.

If its not a factory to factory comparison...then there is no point.

End thread.

Those times were on Hoosier drag slicks. So no it won't handle decent and run 10.97 in the 1/4 . Also those times were on a prepped track with a Ford professional, so really the whole time was meaningless for a street car. Compare it to modified cars. Not taking anything away from the being able to buy the kit from Ford which is nice.

Wasn't just a slapping a blower, they upgraded the injectors, water to air intercooler, tune, CAI, and exhaust to produce that power figure. Pretty sure any of the newer domestic V8s will see that kind of power bump with similar mods and 10lbs of boost.

Does GM have anything similar? That is pretty cool that you can purchase a new 5.0 and have the dealer install the supercharger kit and it all be worked into the price of the car, and covered under warranty.
