Is your minimum spark table stock?

Well after doing a throttle clean / relearn, my situation is improved. With RevMatch off I only seem to get the timing stall in 1st gear from a dead stop, which might not be such a bad thing.

However - what is interesting is with RevMatch on, and data logging, I can shift gears, let the clutch out and get the stutter. When this is happening - the "Immediate Engine Torque" and Predicted Torque Commanded" values come in on the log as "UNKNOWN"

It is like the tune is referencing a table not being addressed in the tune. My tuner is stumped and haven't seen much help on the HPT Forums either

It's a tune issue.

i would love to see a fix on this...

Does anyone know what the max throttle area should be on the ported 87?

I’ve been through 3 tuners. JTM motorsports, Brett at pray performance and the boys over at GPI. I swapped over to a 103mm and have the same issues. I spoke to Ryan at GPI in person when I picked up my car after my build was complete and he told me that there are tables that cannot be reached and there’s not much you can do about it. If I use rev match, I turn it on, downshift, then turn it off.

There’s the user defined parameter functionality if you want to find it yourself. I heard the table you’re looking for is in the bcm tho, not sure how true that is

just don't understand how reputable tuners don't have a real answer on this...
it really ruins the driving experience after you spend all this time trying to get car right, and then the answer is, its just not possible..

Again, One thing you might try is setting the minimum spark to 5 degrees in all of the negative cells and blend it from there. That way if something in the ECU is trying to pull timing, 5 degrees is as low as it will pull. I did this in my tune to mitigate some of the excessive timing pull on shifts for the trans torque management. It also seems to make the car more responsive on tip in from a stop.

This is what Ryan at gpi explained to me. You can’t fix it but you can blend it so there’s less intrusion and you don’t feel it as much. I was happy to atleast get an explanation from Ryan that theres not much that can be done instead of tuners being confused by the situation and not giving you a definitive answer.
