Need advice from anyone in Michigan

Hey,

I'm looking for performance shops, or mechanics that are willing to do customer supplied parts installation. Preferably a shop with dyno tuning services.

I can't seem to find a shop that does not refuse to do this unless I buy "their" parts.

Any advice, links, or recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You've tried all the big names like Livernois, Katech, Walsh, etc?

Not yet, but I will now. Didn't know all the big names yet, which is why I was asking for recommendations.

I've used Vector motorsports and couldn't be happier. Great customer service and they do excellent work while also maintaining reasonable prices

Since you're in Michigan I'd definitely hit up Katech. They may be on the more expensive side but they definitely know their stuff.

I second Alternative Auto as well. Lidio is one of the nicest guys around. Used him many of times in the past. I live 10 minutes from Vector/Car Guys, and have used them as well with mixed results

I contacted them, they refused to do the install without buying their parts.

Lansing, MI

I used to live in Clinton TWP so I'm familiar with that area. Know exactly where Katech is located.

Another question: Do you think its worth the money to have the headers coated?

I can't really see a practical reason, short of heat dissipation.

Would you recommend it?

Katech - Booked for 10 weeks
Livernois - no longer does headers due to EPA
Lingenfelter - Will not do customer supplied parts
Vector Performance - Will not do customer supplied parts

Alternative Auto - Email Sent - Waiting to hear back from them
Walsh Motor sports - Waiting to hear back from them

I'd just book with Katech and wait the 10 weeks.

Thinking I may not have a choice.

One last resource to check on. Called my old mechanic 100 miles away.

He knows a good tuner, question is does he know if that tuner will do an install, or a shop that does.
